Ive just begun shooting trap/skeet at the local club. Thus far ive been borrowing from friends or renting my shotguns.
I haven't found one that im really into,i know i want a break-apart but other then that i have no clue.

So i need opinions...
I desire:
a relatively inexpesive break-apart shot gun.
links and opinions would be great!
:]

EDIT:
Ive been shooting a 12 and 20 gage Beretta.
i like it alot, but its way to expensive.
My range, less than $1,000...

Any other questions,just ask. :]

I wish I could help, but I don't know a lot about shotguns and what I do know is about the pump-action type. But I'm sure someone here can help you.

And welcome to the Guild!

Some information would be of help in assisting you in your choice of shotgun.

First, what is your budget range? It's hard to suggest a shotgun if we don't know what price will break your bank account.

Secondly, what kind of shotgun and gage have you been shooting so far? Lots of people will swear by dedicated single barrel skeet guns from Browning, but that's a real match gun. Some people are happy using standard pump shotguns with long barrels. And skeet can be shot with 12, 16 and 20 gage rounds, depending on the rules.

Example for under $700:
http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/detail.asp?value=011B&cat_id=012&type_id=242

So, let us know the details and we'll pull some names and models for your price range.

Sorry. I don't shoot my shotgun for competition, so I'm not a great resource.

My first recommendation stands. Most Winchesters today are no longer built as well as when the company was in control of production. Remington is a solid enough company, but I have issues with some of their ammo. I don't know what a Beretta shotgun runs, so I can't comment on those.

Actually, my preferred competition extends beyond shotgun range...

I'm an all around firearms individual...

My preferred shoots are the Patrol Rifle, Combat/Defensive handgun, Combat shotgun, intermediate distance shoot, and thats about it... never had much proficiency shooting outside 600 yards

Well, I do have several shotguns but one is a given win.
I've got a Winchester 120 that hasn't let me down.

The one that's a given win is a Remington Auto from 1909. sweatdrop
And it still cycles like a champ!

I do trapshoot but nowhere near a competition range, my extent of trapshooting was in the front yard with a spring loaded launcher

High Power, 200-600 yards. I ran across a Remington break action 12 gauge shotgun today, little over $100. Eh?

EDIT: s**t, This one's even better. $105 NIB? Sounds like a steal.
