Nekoda'Waya:
Nekoda sent a short glance over his shoulder. It would be the third time now, but the cub was slipping away to find something more interesting to do than nap the afternoon away or chew on sticks. Water- he knew now - was definately not safe. But that left quite a lot still to try. There was climbing up trees and rocks, exploring little caves in the rock faces, there was finding out where the land went flat or what was at the top of the mountain. All kinds of things! The cub had very little sense of reason and logic. If he'd not tried doing it- odds were he could. At least in his mind. He tossed the little fluff of mane out of his eyes and prowled forward once more.

Usdi:
Usdi had deserted her siblings to do a little exploring of her own today; the girl's natural colors blended in beautifully with the world around her. Browns and light yellows and bronzes, with hints of light green from the feather in her ear and the beads that dangle down on her neck. The girl's striped tailtuft of light brown and yellow twists behind her as she meanders through, carefully examining anything that looks mildly intriguing. She scrambles over a ledge, to look out from this vantage point at the little depression in the earth below her. But wait - what's this? Someone else nearby? She ducks down, ears perking forward as she watches Nekoda curiously.

Ari'Waya:
Ari wasn't long in following after her younger brother. Though she wasn't as obvious an explorer as he was, the girl was a practiced tickster and always found a fun target in Nekoda. As such, she didn't tell him that she was following, and was doing her best to hide the fact. That wasn't easy with her mother's snow white fur marking her own pelt, but the girl managed. so long as she crept close to the ground and remained in his blind spot, she might be able to follow until she saw a good opportunity for 'attacking'. Besides, it was always interesting to witness the spots Nekoda got himself into.

Nekoda'Waya:
Nekoda had given up checking his back once he was out of sight from their den. Past there he was home-free! The brown cub broke into a cub's lope, his mouth parting in an eager grin and his tail sticking straight up, waving around a fluff of lime green the way one might a victory banner. The world was his! He was the king of the mountain!

Usdi:
The boy-cub's manner was ... puzzling, to be sure. Usdi watched him for a moment more, tilting her head to the side, then stands up straight as Nekoda passes by not far from her rock, and wrinkles her nose at him. "What're you doing?" The girl, like Koda, doesn't notice the presence of his creeping sister: not yet, at any rate.

Nekoda'Waya:
"AH!" The cub slid to a stop, sending his back end up into the air, nearly toppling him over. Once he was settled on his paws again he dipped his head to look down between his paws, past his belly, to the voice behind him. It was a weird way to check the area behind him- but effective. "...Oh hi!" he grinned, "I'm gonna go to the top of the mountain. I bet there's something real cool up there. What's your name?"

Ari'Waya:
Ari hunkered down in the long grass, stopping just far enough away to listen to them. Her ears perked and she cast a quick glance over the new girl. It wasn't often that they saw any other cubs... heck, she had never seen any others besides her siblings before! Koda seemed to find it to be normal though... she wondered if there was another clan somewhere near them, the girl had Clad jewelry on. Instead of popping up to introduce herself, she slunk around behind the two of them.

Usdi:
The brown girl follows his progress with her head, watching him skid to a halt, and tils her head further, expression perplexed, as he looks back at her. His sudden outburst of greeting - like the sun, she thinks, dazedly, and decides to privately christian him Sun from now on - takes her aback, but she quickly recovers. "Oh," And then, wistfully: "D'you think you really should? I'm Usdi, Usdi Kanati." Her tone is not without pride, and she adds shyly: "What's yours?"

Nekoda
"Of course I should!" He turned himself around and puffed out his chest, "I'm Nekoda'Waya- but you can call me Kody. it's easier to say." He chuckled a bit, "And I'm not afraid, I bet there's something real cool at the top, maybe we'll meet...uh..." He put a paw to his chin, "A god... or maybe something better! It's so close to the sky, maybe we can catch a cloud and fly on it. Or a bird!"

Ari:
One.. Twoo...... Ari got behind the new girl and hunched down into a pounce mode. A second later she came flying above the grass towards the pair of them. "RAAAHHHHH!"

Usdi:
She wrinkled her nose at him again. "But .. what if it's a place sacred t'the spirits?" The girl flops back on her haunches, frowning at him, as if she didn't think he was taking his decision seriously, and further uncertain about his use of the word 'god.' It wasn't right, just going off and doing something because you could ... but her train of thought is derailed at the sudden 'attack,' and she whips around, on all fours again, her fur standing on end, eyes narrowed furiously at ... another cub? The hiss that works it's way to her muzzle dies halfway, and she backs up.

Nekoda:
Nekoda on the other hand lept up into the air and gave a yowl of suprise. Back on the ground his fur stood on end, claws pushed into the ground, and eyes had widened. It took a moment to register just who the culpret was. Even then, a slow smirk pulled across his maw followed by a laugh, "You got me again! Haha." He looked over towards the new cub, then over to Ari, "You gonna join me? I bet the spirits will bless us for being so brave." He was sure of it! If no one did it, maybe no one -could- do it. No one ever mentioned a curse from exploring. Not that he'd heard anyway.

Ari:
Ari stopped in the middle of them, hunkering down to the ground. She hissed and spat then giggled and bounced back up. The girl took a few steps away and then turned and sat, taking a minute to smooth her fur out. "Hi!" She smiled at Usdi, then frowned at her brother. "you're stupid."

Nekoda:
Nekoda huffed and tossed the mane from his face again, "I'm not -stupid- I'm having fun. You know? Fun. Like... not sitting around cleaning myself all day." He snorted and plopped himself down on his back end. "And I don't know! That's half the fun. We find out so other people can know. You see? We're... we're...." he waved his paw around in the air, "Pioneers! Yeah that's it. We're brave pioneers. Or at least..." he glanced towards his sister. "I am."

Ari:
Ari raised a brow. "But if the spirits don't like it we might not COME back. Mamma said they can be mean when they're angry."

Nekoda:
"They -can- be. That's the key word." He pointed out. "YOU can be mean when you're angry. And how do you know it'll make them angry anyhow? We're just going up to visit. It's not like we're taking anything from them or doing something bad. I just want to see."

Usdi:
"I think spirits c'n do a lot more to you than any cub c'ld," Usdi pointed out patiently. "An' some places is sacred, like the Stargrove. Y'should ask, first, 'n then if it's okay we c'n go up." She was obstinate about this: the little girl was in awe and, in some respects, fear of the spirits of her pride, and thought that the lack of respect this Kody was showing them was stupid, if not downright dangerous. The little cub throws a grateful look at Ari for the support the lighter cub seems to be showing to her argument.

Nekoda:
"Girls." Kody huffed as his ears roll back, "You really are no fun you know...fine what about the bottom of the mountain. What's there? Maybe we can find a cave to make our fort or....something." "What about you guys? Playing with your fur all day or sunning can't be all you wanna do! Don't you wanna catch a bird? Or see what's on the top of a tree?"

Ari:
Ari was a trickster at heart, but she wasn't a stupid one. But, if you were going to cross thin ice, you might as well dance your way across! "I don't really care what is at the top of the tree, Koda.." Ari frowned. She paused, then looked at usdi, "i'm Ari'Waya, by the way," And turned back to her brother, "But we can go cave hunting. There's cool bugs in those, and glowy plants if you go far enough."

Usdi:
"Well, s'pose that might be okay ... " Usdi says, with a flick of her ear. She huffs a bit at the 'playing with your fur all day' bit, looking rather affronted. Of course she looked after her fur! But she didn't do it all day. The little brown girl perks up at Ari's suggestion of cave-hunting, and feels shyly pleased that she's been invited to join this little escapade. "Usdi Kanati," she offers in return to Ari, and bobs her head. "Yeah, cave hunting sounds pretty cool. There might be bats, too."

Nekoda:
"Ohh, we can bring bats back to our parents! That'll show them how responsable we are." He added with an eager nod. "I think there's some caves a little further up. Not at the top but higher... I hear bats coming from there at sunset." He glanced around then slowly started up a little cluster of rocks. "So that's the best place to start.
