"The Litha Revels"
crackling fire, blazing bright
illuminating Midsummer night
trilling flutes and drums resound
as barren feet dance the ground
in moonlit glades, fireflies dance
fields adorned in floral decadence
clapping, chanting, pagans sing
the crescendo promised by spring
homebrews passed and torches lit
the smells of wild boar on spit
flowers woven into the hair
their fragrance hovers on the air
from dawn till dusk and into night
we celebrate our pagan rite
the overripened summer fruits
praised with drum, string, and lute
dance we merry through the night
hiding out from mundane sight
morning dew will dash the coals
(homebrew, then, will take it's toll!)
then we'll go our seperate way
counting till the next holiday.
