TGPL Gaming Across America (maybe the world)

After a short discussion in the thread "Marathon Gaming" and a bit more in the chatbox, we've decided to start planning for an absolutely epic game marathon.

Probably some long weekend over thanksgiving or xmas so we can go for a very long time


Goals:


- Play (and complete) games quickly and well for 5 days straight.
- Alternate between "teams" set up across the country (and possibly world). For example, my team (in MA) might beat pokemon blue, then we could switch to bluix+slaser+mazeyelle in Washington state where they beat sonic 1, then switch to someone else
- Have as little downtime as possible, and someone giving commentary at all times.
- Raise money for some charity (tbd)
- Set up a website of operations


Rules

- Cannot quit playing for longer than a minute or so (having assistants / a team is advisable)
- Cannot use advantageous glitches/codes
- This is NOT tool assisted!
- Games need to be completed at a steady solid relatively quick pace
- Games need to be played to completion!
- We need someone commentating at almost all times

(remember we're trying to make this as entertaining as possible for the audience as well)

Ok, well I'm downloading the fasest single segment (meaning without any saving and going back, like we'll be doing) pokemon blue from speeddemoarchives for reference, if I plan this out well enough I should be able to complete it between 3-4 hours.

I'm also looking into doing Portal in under an hour, but caj might be better suited for doing that.

I'm strongly looking into practicing a lot and becoming epic enough to beat every megaman (at least in the normal and X series none of this network crap) game relatively quickly. I might also bust out Viewtiful Joe

I was seriously considering participating in this, but realized that I lack a webcam and friends insane enough to join me in this.

I was thinking of doing Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3, USA, Super Mario World, and Super Mario 64, throwing in Legend of Zelda and LoZ:OoT when the platforming goodness was on the verge of causing an anurism. Without funding or a team, I doubt I'd be able to keep it up for 18 hours, much less five days.
