Here I want you to post some awesome words of wisdom you gained that, when you look back, really got you through a dark time...

One of my favorite was from an anime actually

Honey and Clover

"We all know your past. Don't try to compare your past to someone else's. It just leaves you both wallowing in self-pity and nothing gets accomplished"

Those were so powerful it actually made tears form... What impacted YOU like that?

I've actually never had a manga or anime affect me very much, however I did think that the ending to Cowboy Bebop was horribly sad. Along the same note, anyone who didn't think Spike dying is like the most horrible part of the series is just a bit nutty to me.

A lot of people have had major influences on me, most of them turned out to be assholes later in life, but that's a whole other bucket full of emotional issues. I'd have to say the two most influential people in my life were and still are Ms. Thaler (english teacher, life isntructer, jewish mom extraordinarie) and Mr. Feia (calculus teacher, life instructor, world lover). They've helped me realize a lot of my potential.

The most inspirational words that have gotten me through most of my dark times usually goes something along the lines of "if you can make it out here, you can have my couch/futon"

Well, I don't really remember what was said exactly, but the only anime to ever get me really emotional is 'Aria the Animation'. Episode eleven, where the three teachers tell Akari and her two friends that they all used to be friends. They said they drifted apart as they grew older, but became friends again recently. At the end, when Akari, Alice, and Aika all promised to stay friends really got me emotional, because I was having a few friendship issues at the time. The issues haven't really gone away, but they haven't really gotton worse, either.

See.... I wish you would remember the quote LOL! I love getting insight from everything, but remember it is not JUST about anime here, it is about a Mantra, or a life principle that we have acquired through this journey of self-awareness.

I am sorry (v)orbid... I am going to embarrass you here.
Quote:
It's like you're a 20th level mage going up against a barrage of 10th level fighters. You're gonna beat them all unless you give them a chance to level up to your level.

That is prolly the greatest piece of advice about dealing with a strong defense I have set up for myself because of past issues.....

(v)orbid... you rock...

Embarrass me? I'm actually flattered. I've said something wise enough to make it onto the "Mantra" thread and something quoted completely randomly too smile

Sorry guys, but the best mantra i have comes from a song.

"If I had my way i'd cut the calluses from you're heart,
If I could get past the sternum
Cauterize those wounds with every kiss I could give to you
I'm holding your heart in my hands
The reason it still beats..."

Atreyu
Demonology and Heartache

Just remembering those lyrics made me feel stronger, as if i could overcome anything, to lower my elbow down and knockdown the offender onto his pompous bottom. . .Yes i get goosebumps and i get emotional at somethings..

Okay, so Now i've actually got something decent to say about a mantra. It comes from the Samuel Beckett play Waiting for Godot.

Estragon
Nothing to be done.

I take it to mean that one should stay focused on the moment, and not try to live in the past. It's already happened and there's "nothing to be done" about it.

There's actually a lot of good stuff in that play, if you read it. It's all about perception and what the reader gets out of it, though. Beckett said himself that he didn't put any meaning into the play, but one can derive it quite easily.

"May you go with the protection and love of Almighty God. It's the usual mantra for the big guy."
"Does it work?"
"Thats entirely up to you."
"Wonderful mantra you got there..."
"Believers will be redeemed in the end!"

~"(My words of wisdom)"~

This world is meaningless you live to die and you were born to live to die for what this world believes is not the truth it is the oposite this world can never be trusted.. No one and anything if you do trust one thing of this world you will surely fall like fame, riches corruption, drugs, suicide then if you are to do such things you will know you're big mistake...

The mistake of trusting this world or and the things of this world cause it is obvious none are good and all are evil and wicked beasts lurking to hurt you.. They may seem like a friendly face but like the werewolf it will devour you at the full moon..

You learn not to be like these people. So you kind of learn from the most unlikely places.
