I just beat KHII last night, actually... though I have had it since it came out... I just didn't finish it after I got it, then left the country, and so forth, so anyway...
I love Kingdom Hearts. 'Tis a very nice Square game series, and I am really excited for the third game (It better be on PS3 >w< ) ! I was oddly really happy about Tron being in KHII, I love that movie, grew up watching it a lot... But I love the series most for the fun characters. Sora is awesome, and I like his friendship/semi-rivalry with Rikku, as well as Kairi. The disney element is weirdly cool too, and I like all the Squaresoft-isms in the game, all the links to the Final Fantasy series and so forth.
I do have some issues with the KH series though. I didn't play the DS installment, Chain of Memories. I'm betting most people didn't either. But that meant a lot of the stuff in KHII was kinda confusing for a while... Like "Oh! There are going to be thirteen boss fights with Organization XIII! Oh wait... no... a bunch of them are dead...? What the...l?" that was a downer.
And, in the end, KHII left me feeling a bit cold... The ending kinda rushes up on you and you go through a very short final world and finish off a ton of baddies really fast, then have to do a LONG final set of fights. Then the cutscenes following it are like... OK... and then everything is fine...
Ah well, it's still a good game, though not as intriguing and solid as the first Kingdom hearts, which is definitely a classic, great game. There was way more interesting mysteries. KHII kinda ends all the mystery stuff...
And KHIII is not going to be a sequal, so Sora and crew's stories are done at II... which is kind of a sad thing too.
And, Oooh poor xXChocolate_PenguinXx ... I wonder if you will feel the same about one very, very frustrating end to one particular character... I don't want to say too much if you haven't finished it >,< But that is one of the things that annoyed me a ton before you get to go to the World That Never Was T,T

... hah. Yeah... I hear that a lot... and yet I have a feeling it's more along the lines of "Sony stuff is expensive, and I can't afford it, so grr. I'll go pirate things on my Bawks now." wink
Like I said, the attitude is only here in the states. Sony rules the scene in Japan. That's why I go with them. I prefer Japanese games to anything we manage to turn out. Madden 9-million, New flashy FPS Mark VI (Though hey, I like Resistance and Killzone 2 looks like genius)... or... FFXIII, MSG4, all the upcoming Japan only titles... Somehow I don't see an issue with the choice...
PS3 is a smart piece of hardware. Where has their quality tanked? Cameras? TVs? My sony HDTV is great, I've had it well over a year and never had in burn in, which cannot be said for many other HDTV brands...
I do own a Canon though for a camera. wink
However! We stray! This is about Kingdom Hearts *makes a Zehanort gesture to the heart-shaped moon rising up behind me*
So, who has seen the "secret movie" on the end of KHII? o,0
