if there ever was a video game that I would recommend for anyone, Okami would be my first choice.
while I'm more of a Final Fantasy player, I had no trouble entering the beautiful world creator Clover Studio had to offer. I have near-to-no complaints about any aspect of the gameplay, as the controls are easy to master, the storyline is sappy and hilarious but deliciously delivers the action, and the main character is a sweet and gentle soul that everyone can root for.

I especially enjoyed the battle system. you use a brush and "ink" to destroy enemies with gust of wind or a blast of water. it is unlike any other battle system I've seen, and it was definitely the easiest to understand and control.

if there was anything about this game I would have a little trouble with, it would be the lack of character dialog. while it's particularly cute to hear Ossun (the adorable budding artist that helps Okami along her vast journey) talk in his warbling voice as an angry bug, it somewhat gets annoying that you have to keep your eyes on the screen at all times, reading exactly what each character says. while that is not hard (you won't want to put your controller down, you know), it is a little frustrating to gamers that can't fully focus all their attention to the screen while playing (for instance, the fact that I'm a mother with a very active two year old, lol).

otherwise, Okami is an incredible game with gorgeous graphics that are similar to all of Clover's games (Viewtiful Joe, God Hand) and keeps even the savviest of gamers wanting more.

I give this game a 5/5 stars.

so to the questions..
1. what made you decide to play Okami?
2. what was your favorite scene?
3. what did you think about this game overall?

I would actually have to agree with you on this one. I've played it for the ps2 (my brother's friend has it and brought it over and we took turns playing) and I really liked it. I wonder how the game play will work with the wii, which is the only system I have. I've looked at it in gamestop and it says the characters are supposed to be more complex and I really wanna see if that's true. And if it's true, I wanna see how it works.

oh my, I forgot about the new game for the Wii. I wish I had that system.. it seems really fun and more interactive than a plain controller. I think it would work easier with the Wii, as you don't have to thumb around a joystick in order to make the brush strokes.. you can just move it in that direction! oh man.. I should look into the Wii just for Okami. xD

give it some time. my guild still isn't too active and I have 50 members join this month (we just opened August 1st). I like the guild, and I'm sure once more people start posting, it will get much more hectic and you'll be wanting just a few people to post so you can catch up. lol.

By the way... thanks for the recommendation.... This is the exact reason why Kiwi and myself even THOUGHT about having a guild!

The wii is rather overrated. There are some pretty cool games out for it and it does have a fairly unique gameplay, however, it's getting much more praise than it deserves. Plus, since it's a new revolutionary system, there aren't many games out for the system (in comparison) so Nintendo gets away with charging out the a**s for it. Even the used games don't go below $26 I think.

Ookami is a awsome game! I got addicted to it when I first got it and only left my bedroom for a bathroom break but other then that I only ate Hot-n-Spicy cheezeitzs and 7up.. yum... Then after I beat it I was sad.... anywys my favorite part of the game was the free roaming I hate when a game only gives you a limited choice and Ookami is good with the free roaming.

I think Ookami for the wii is ok for the brush stokeing part but other then that I think it's sorta stupid... It's pritty much the same game with a diffrent controller.. I still like the ps2 Ookami better

oh and my favorite sceens were the zodiac animal sceens

I picked the game up because I heard of it and thought it would be awesome. It defintely is awesome! But I would agree that the only annoying thing was the dialogue and how you couldn't understand what they were saying, unless you looked at the screen. But I would say my favorite screen was when Mr. Orange did that dance to make Konohana tree bloom. That was so funny.
