I'm looking for some classic movies to watch but I don't know where to start.

Any ideas?

I've got a short list here already:
- Schindler's List
- The Godfather
- Scarface
- M Butterfly

How about Casablanca for romance, Caddieshack for comedy, The Day the World Stopped Turning for horror.

Oooh. Thanks! I think I'll go for The Day the World Stopped Turning. It sounds... intriquing. 3nodding

Psycho is a great one.
The Birds-best to watch after a seagull decides to try to eat you
Frakenstien-spelling is off.
I personally like many old horror movies because gore in full color can be distracting. That and they had less to work with so they didn't focus so much on special effects but the story

But what about classics like Monty Python and the Holy Grail or Airplane!. They set the stage for many great comidies. Plus, you can't go wrong with A Night at the Opera.

An instant classic horror for me is The Evil Dead... if you want an even better movie... try The Evil Dead 2... go all out and finish the trilogy with Army of Darkness... they probably to most are not classics... but they are classics in my eyes.

Most classic movies bore me, but they make you look so cultured. . . oh what the hell! Does the Alien series count as classic si-fi?

the birds is definetely a good 1, but watch the balck and white version, the color one makes it kinda funny because the blood is a really fake red and the blondes are all fake and everything is just overdone color wise. and when u watch it watch it late at night, it's much better that way

i think star wars and the indiana jones series are classics, i mean starwars is really unique and hightech (for when it was made) and indiana jones set the stage for action heroes out to save the world from power and money hungry villains.....

hope this helps

Pritty much any movie by John Hughs is a classic. The best example of one would be Farris Bueller's Day Off.
