Has anyone else ever thought this?

Well, I actually heard someone else say this on another website a long time ago, and I kind of agree with them... Do you think Sailor Moon would've been a better show if it was just about the senshi living their normal lives instead of fighting evil? Don't get me wrong, I love Sailor Moon the way it is, but after I read that, I started noticing how in each episode usually one of the senshi or their friend has some kind of problem, and in the end an enemy shows up, and somehow the enemy is defeated, and somehow that also solves their... more normal... problem. What if the senshi just tried to help the person, and they just found a way to solve the problems in normal life, and we would see the characters grow up and get more mature from these situations?
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the show the way it is, but does anyone else think it would be interesting to see the show this way? (I know they'd never change it or anything though, and I don't think they should, I just thought it was a cool idea. ^^)

i have to agree that the "save the world" thing is a bit cliche, but then if we were to change it, it really wouldnt be Sailor Moon

Take out the "magical girl" and it's not Sailor Moon anymore,
it's just another shoujo highschool drama series.

If it was that way, it would be more like "Usagi" rather than "Sailor Moon".

I get your point..but that seems like it would be a bit weird then.
Would they still have like their super cool outfits and transformations and stuff? Cuz that's totally half the show right there! sweatdrop

In my opinion it would take the Sailor Moon out of Sailor Moon.

Honestly I wouldn't watch sailor moon if there was no magical girl element. It'd be like a soap opera anime then.

That is a very interesting thought. You wouldn't exactly have Sailor Moon, but you would get to know the characters better.

I wouldn't want the magical element taken out of things- then it would just be the same ol' drama stuff. There could have been shown more of them having normal day things going on in between the fighting evil.

While the point of Sailor Moon is to be a cliche` magical girl show, it would be awesome to have a normal-life show. If you make it so the senshi have "fantasies" or comics or dreams of being super heroes, then you could still call it Sailor Moon. The characters themselves would make it a more interesting Tokyo-teen drama, I think.
