Li stared at the river, not to puzzle over it, but to find... He didn't know what. He'd listened his whole life, to all that others said, to who everyone was. And in the end, he didn't know who he himself was. He was the son of the prior king, yes... But that didn't tell him much. He was like a bird, lost in a sea of confusion, and he didn't know where to go from here.

Phooka slunk away from his father. His magic hadn't improved, his father claimed. Yeah, duh. Magic didn't exist and he didn't exactly go around mimicking other animals anyway. He was an adolescent now. His father should move on. After all, Ulozi had no cares for Phooka's mother or his siblings that Phooka could see so why the continuing "show me your magic" deal? He snorted and pawed the ground like a wildebeest out of amusement for his situation.

Drawing towards the river, he noticed someone was already occupying a place beside it. Phooka considered briefly just slinking off before he was discovered. But he wasn't that mean of a person. So sucking it up, he came up next to the other. Phooka followed his gaze into the water and then looked back at the other. "Has it revealed any of its secrets?" he asked not in a condescending tone but of one who had often looked in it for guidance and found nothing.

Li only spared the other lion a glance before he returned his attention to the water. Below the surface, a fish 'slept' behind a rock, protected from the current. "As many secrets as anathin' reveals." Reaching his chocolate-brown paw out, he gave the water over the fish a tap. The water creature darted away, heading down river.

Standing up and stretching, the gray lion finally looked to the other. "So, what're ye up to out here?" Not that he was up to anything himself. There wasn't a whole lot to DO, and he was bored. His mind needed to be stretched out.

He raised and then relaxed his eyebrows in a sort of "oh the usual" expression. "Getting away from the pressures of family. There's too much responsibility on me for being the oldest." With that, he might have just seemed like your average teen although he knew he wasn't. He came up beside the grey and brown male, looking down into the water with skepticism that it could offer him any wisdom much less anything at all. He was sure somewhere water was holy and worshiped. But what'd it ever provide than something nice to drink?

"What about yourself?" he asked out of politeness and a desire to seem interested in conversation.
