-Another Cub?!-
Dark Fire Angel
Up and down, up and down... she'd been relocated a couple of times since her arrival to the pride; Nyota had left her in one spot before running off to tend to his duties, and then, later, Abeni had picked her up and taken her elsewhere. Not that she minded, really; in all honesty, Kipepeo was enjoying it, for it was the first time in a very long time that she'd been amongst lions.
As it was however, she'd been told to sit quietly and politely to the side... that one of the pridal leaders would soon enough find her and confront her; ultimately it would be him that would decide if she should stay or leave. Blinking, the female looked down upon herself, her ears flattening back when she noticed that blood still stained quite a large portion of her body from earlier activities. Maybe... she should have taken a bath before attending this meeting; as an after thought, she raised a paw and began to lick away at her pelt.

So ... Iar had heard by this point that -somehow-, they had gained another cub. -Right- after talking to Abeni about her three little ones. The large lion sighed and flattened his ears a bit, shaking head. And he couldn't really direct his frustration about this -at- anyone, because this cub wasn't the offspring of any in the pride. Apparently, she had just wandered here on her own ... and then been brought farther in by one of Verge's sons. Nyota, he believed.
Hmph... perhaps he might have a little -talk- with that one later. But for now, he was here to inspect this girl-cub. It wouldn't do to turn away a demon, no matter how young.
And as he padded up, he slowed just a bit, head tilting. Was that blood that she was licking from her paw..? How very, very interesting. Rumbling softly to announce himself, he padded up and stared down at her. "Who are you?"

Indeed it was blood; it stained her pelt here and there, mostly her arms and maw, from her earlier... playtime, which had been interrupted by Abeni. So entranced had she been with trying to clean herself in an attempt to make herself slightly more presentable that she hadn't noticed the large male approaching. Of course, that is, till he spoke in his rumbling voice.
The girl's tongue paused mid lick, her red hued gaze moving up to greet his. For a second, she remain still, taking in his form, and then with almost practiced grace, her tongue slipped back into the cavern of her mouth, "Kipepeo," after a momentary pause, she child tilted her head to one side, the blood staining her coat forgotten in favour of the encounter.

Red eyes narrowed slightly at that, and Iar tilted his head, then leaned down to sniff at the small lioness. Hm... yes, blood. Re-thinking his approach slightly, he decided he had better first figure out where all of said blood came from. Then if he wanted to swat her around some, he could.
"What is all of that blood from?" he asked bluntly, blinking at her.

"Toys," she said with a blink, almost as if the answer were too obvious for her taste; where else would the blood come from? Almost as if an after thought though, she elaborated, "The small ones. They break though. I can't get the bigger ones yets..." Nyota had told her that she should have been drinking the blood, but oh, old habits were hard to die, and she'd gone about playing without paying much mind to the older cub's words only hours ago...

One brow went up at that... and Iar had to assume she meant she'd been going about tormenting small creatures for her own enjoyment. Which was all fine and good so far as -he- was concerned. Still, he liked to play too... so he couldn't just leave it at that, now could he?
"Is there a reason you can't get hold of anything bigger... Kipepeo?" he purred, though there was a thread of menace in his tone as he leaned closer.

This question made her pause, and her orbs raised up to the sky as she pondered the answer. Either she was entirely unaware of the threat in his voice or she was choosing to ignore it; however, it was likely to be the former, "The hares are too fast... and the ones with the horns are too big; it would not do to get killed trying to get a toy. It defeats the purpose," she paused as she resettled her eyes on him, lowering them down to his nose, "You have a mark that looks like blood," she was referring to his nose streak, but her choice of words made it almost cryptic, "See? I have them too," and her own paws reached up to be placed under her eyes to signal her own blood colored markings, including her toe and fingers ones.

Iar stared at her for moment or two, and then apparently decided that was a good enough answer. They were excuses, of a sort. But her reasoning for not going after things like antelope and the like was at least sound.
So he nodded at her words. "Yes... that's true. Another question... why do you play with things? Aside from the fact that it's ... fun." A little smirk at that last, as if he understood, somewhat.

Now THAT question was tricky.
That much was instantly clear, for the cub lowered her paws from under her eyes, taken back by the notion that there HAD to be a reason, "Why?" why indeed? If anything, it was noticeable the young thing had never paused to question why she did it, "Because I want to," he told him, and then, she frowned, "I shouldn't?" something about that notion forced her ears to flatten back, "I need a reason?" in all honesty, she'd done so simply because... it soothed her, to some level.

Iar laughed softly at that. "No ... a reason isn't always needed. I just wondered what you might say," he admitted softly. "You should do whatever it is you feel like doing... if you believe that you are worth to do so."
