You cant find Rose in the game and the man she describes in her letter to you is Scythe from the first game and I guess he just protects her.

errrm sooo i having truble on the archolagest quest i havent beet the game yet on my new file cause i need my dog for alot lol.. but i at the part where its like the clue is "its in a cave near a beach near a regon you got an artifact from b4" but i cant figure out what cave =/

This game impresses me in a lot of ways,and in lot of ways it doesn't.

It's the Hobb Cave I think.

Close.
Get to where you entered the Hobbe Cave the very first time (when you had to jump off the broken bridge). Then, swim further down away from the bridge and cave, and you should get to another cave. There are a few Hollow Men on the outside, and inside is nothing but beetles. There's a chest and a silver key in there, as well.
