It was easy for Sewti to realize that something had endeared her to the strange prince, now queen, of her new homelands. What was strange about it was that in many ways they seemed to be the least likely pair in the world, while in others they seemed almost destined for one another. She couldn't help but wonder what strange sense of humor mother nature had, or fate, or whatever it was that had designed and guided the pair of them. Surely the greater power must be having a good laugh - just as the muses of this land must have been cackling fit to be tied. She knew at least Kisirani was pleased and amused all at once, though whether or not she was one of these muses was yet to be seen.

It was with these thoughts that she trotted through the foliage of the jungle border of the Kizingo'zaa lands, thinking carefully over what hand she had been dealt. Her visage almost seemed troubled for once, deep in thought and pondering and that in itself was something quite strange for the generally carefree and joyous tomboy of a lioness. They must have been nagging at her quite viciously to actually cause such a physical reaction.

She had wandered away from her companion for a bit to explore the are that they were walking though. The foliage was far greener than it had been near the middle of the savanna and she wanted to see for herself. She could smell others about and wondered if she was infringing on a pride's territory. Hopefully it was just their hunting grounds and she wasn't actually somewhere she wasn't suppose to be.

Smiling softly she leaned up to sniff at the small flower she'd found. So far it was a beautiful day to be out exploring. Maybe if she could find more flowers she'd have to take one back with her.

Her ears perked as she heard something around her, footfalls, and paused to wait. She didn't want to stir up trouble by startling whoever it was.

Luckily enough for the newcomer, the Kizingo'zaa pride was one founded on peace. She wasn't even sure many of them would raise a paw to defend themselves - though, being born and bred rogue she knew that she certainly would if threatened. No, people passing through their lands was a common occurrence and the pride embraced them as far as she could tell, instead of getting territorial and trying to chase them off or injure them like quite a handful of prides she had unfortunately encountered in her time traveling both alone and with her parents.

"Hello there," she said calmly as she broke through a particularly dense batch of foliage to the sight of the blue lioness before her. Thoughts of the nymph-like male vanished from her mind momentarily and she was thankful for the distraction, quite unused to the constant questions that were skittering across her consciousness. "I don't believe I've seen you around the pride before," she ventured, narrowing her eyes in a wondering manner, as if she were questioning her memory, "so I believe you must be a rogue, yes?"

She still jumped slightly when she was spoken to but smiled none the less. "I am i suppose." She didn't belong to any pride so that was probably the best description of it. "From your words i have wandered into a pride territory?"

The other female didn't seem like she was going to get violent so she relaxed. It was always nice to meet others and she would have something to tell her companion when she returned.

She couldn't help the slight chuckle as the female jumped, though it wasn't malicious, simply amused. Once she was sure the other was not of a malevolent nature, she sat, nested against a mossy log.

"Yes, the Kizingo'Zaa," she stated with a small shrug, tilting her head as she spoke. It was still strange to her, after all this time, to say that she belonged to a pride. At first she had come for Panu - he had needed a friend and she had enjoyed his company enough to think that she wouldn't mind staying here for a while. Now that he was missing and she had no other reason to be here, however, she couldn't help but think that she was here for Nili. "They're a peaceful sort, really, and won't mind you being here at all. Well, we, I suppose." She smirked slightly and shook her head at having to correct herself; she still didn't think with a group mind. "We live mostly on the beach and few of us even venture into the jungle very often, so if not for me, you probably would have gone unnoticed."

"The beach? Does that mean that you all like water?" She'd never really been to the beach before, preferring cool springs to the idea of salty waves. "Well i'm glad that they're not the sort to defend themselves against the occasional wanderer." She laughed softy as she sat down herself. That meant she could pass through without having to worry about someone growling at her for setting foot in the wrong place.

"Most of us, yeah. You can smell the salt in the air, even here, if you know what you're looking for," she said with that lopsided grin of hers still in place, lifting her nose to the air as she spoke for emphasis. She had been living by the ocean for longer than she had been in this pride. The Cove, she had called her previous home - she missed it, though she wouldn't have left this pride for anything in the world. At least not to leave Nili behind, anyway.

"I'm not even sure they'd really defend themselves against an attacker, to be honest," she said with a little shrug. She had taken a new position, a guardian position, that was responsible for quite a few curious things. "They really do stress peace." The genuinely playful smile on her maw faded to a gentle, thoughtful one then.

"I could smell it as i passed. I didn't realize that i was that close to the ocean though." She had smelled salt flats before so she recognized the scent. "I should have paid more attention to the foliage and realized that it couldn't be a salt flat." There was no way green plants like these would grow over salt flats.

"Peace is good ... but to not defend yourself?" That she didn't really understand. Then again she was rather soft herself and would probably run before she could get in a fight.

"Most travelers usually don't unless they've been here before," she said with a little shrug. With a paw, she reached out to a tree, pressing the flat of her pad against it. "It's the jungle - it blocks out a lot of the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves. They don't realize the ocean is there until they break through the other side and are standing right on the beach." She chuckled at the thought, having seen more than her fair share of wide-eyed rogues surprised at their find. "It's like a hidden treasure, really."

At her question, she shrugged, "I've no idea about that, really. I wasn't born here so I don't know what makes them prefer to run." She glanced up at the canopy, as if the trees would speak to her and tell her the answer, like so many in the pride claimed they would. "I think they would just prefer to avoid violence at all costs, no matter what."

"That makes sense i suppose." She nodded. She'd been a few places where there were hidden things that she'd never have known about if she hadn't stumbled into them. Things like that were always interesting.

"Mm... maybe something happened to them in the past." Everyone had their reasons for things though she couldn't imagine not defending something she called home. "Hopefully nothing like that will happen so no one will have to worry."

"It also means there's a bit of privacy. If others don't know it's there, they don't come looking for it generally," she shrugged at that, glancing over her shoulder the way she had come - from the ocean. "I know they say they enjoy peace and welcome strangers, but it wouldn't be quite as enjoyable if they had rogue stumbling right into the heart of their pride every day."

She turned her head back to the other female, considering what she said, then simply nodded. That seemed as likely as anything else. "I suppose that could be a very good reason."

"That does seem like a good way to keep the peace." She nodded with a smile. "Whoever found this place must have been very lucky. I'm sure it's beautiful by the ocean."

She might have to go see it some time when she could drag her companion along. I wouldn't be as nice if she had to explain it rather than both of them experiencing it for themselves. "Are you here because it's peaceful? or for some other reason?"

"It is very peaceful," she murmured with a smile, thinking of the home she had found here momentarily, before the female's next question interrupted her train of thought.

"Well, that's a little hard to answer." A soft, low chuckle emerged from her mug at the thought, rolling her shoulders as she considered it. "I lived by the ocean before, a ways from here, of my own accord. It was a smaller place, no pride, quite peaceful and beautiful. I lived there because I wanted to be alone for once." She turned her head, glancing off into the jungle. "Then, one day the then prince of these lands found me and I decided to come home him, because he wanted a friend. I moved here to be his friend, he became king, and now he's gone again."

Now she had paused, chewing at the inside of her cheek in thought, back to where she had been before this lioness had come along. "Now I'm here.. because of someone else, I suppose. I still enjoy the peacefulness, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have other reasons for staying."

She tilted her head slightly as she listened to the other female speak. It was an interesting story but something about it seemed to bother the other.

"It bothers you that he's gone?" That seemed like the most likely option for what about the story bothered her. The lioness seemed to like the place so she didn't think that it was the leaving her home for this one.

"Well, yes and no." She shook her head as she thought about it, cursing Panu the meanwhile. "It bothers me because he's my friend and he should be here, but I know that if he left, he left because he needed space from the pride. He has a lot of issues with pressure - it builds up and frustrates him." She didn't mention the fact that he had young cubs he had left behind, either.

"I guess I'm just being selfish, probably. I'm confused over my own.. love interest and I just wish he was here to talk to me about it. That's what friends are for, right?" She rolled her eyes at the thought, then let the smile spread back onto her maw. Panu and love advice seemed like a very bad mix.
