I was wondering, when ever I make the camera get to close to trees on my sims lots the trees fade away. I want to make this stop. So is there a way for me to zoom close to a tree and not have it fade away?

There is a way, yes! It requires altering the camera file and will effect ALL objects that fade when you zoom close to them, not just trees. Neighbourhood objects will still fade though.
Navigate your way to; My Documents/ EA Games/ The Sims 2/ Cameras and then create a backup of the LiveCamera file. Save it to your Desktop or somewhere safe. Using Notepad, or any other typing program, open the original LiveCamera file. Scroll all the way to the bottom where you should see;
with a value listed after each. Change the values to 0 and save the file. The next time you play the game the trees and all other objects should no longer fade when you zoom close to them. It will also stop them disappearing in cut scenes if you have the special events camera turned on.
If you want the objects to fade again then just replace the file with the backed up original.
