WARNING: WALL OF TEXT
I have learned something that makes me intensely angry.
To set up this story, I'll share some information about my Great Grandfather. Joseph is his name, and he's a WWII veteran.
A pilot in the Flying Tigers, flying for the Navy before that, he had many great stories, and a great collection. One such story is of various goods and "Treasure" he and his pilot buddies collected during their time with the Flying Tigers. Pricey items like gold and what not, he says he buried it in a graveyard in China to retrieve after the war. (Might have to look into that sometime)
He became a NY State Trooper after the war, and became rather well known for catching some notorious Mafia thugs and confiscating their huge weapon cache (And I mean huge, he has the newspaper article framed in his room.) The mafia later offered him an offer he could not refuse, and after retirement "Mysteriously" had a steady supply of money for his hobbies, such as inventing and patenting body armors, constructing a harbor in eastern Florida, and would have weekly private poker games with his well dressed Italian friends.
But I digress. He was a firearm nut, and generally awesome. Floodlights and sirens on the INSIDE of his house, to blind and surprise any unsuspecting intruder. Though most of the time, he only blinded his own wife.
Not to mention his extensive firearms collection. M1 Carbine, several shotguns, Colt 1911's, Pre-ban AK-47 and M16, numerous 9mm's and revolvers, and many more rifles then I can even remember the make and model of.
Now here comes the RAGE part.
His daughter, the b***h she is, was afraid of these weapons and thought he would kill himself with them. So using this as an excuse, she confiscated all of them and had her shitbag husband disassemble them, then place them in a large bucket TO BE GIVEN AWAY. FOR FREE.
Except for the Fully-Automatic AK-47 and M16, those were sold for $100 total. This did not take place in the 70's or something either by the way, this was 2005.
As if that wasn't enough, she took his home and moved him into a small apartment and left him to fend for himself. He has trouble walking and is bound to his wheelchair most of the time, and broke his leg the first week of being there. His daughter (Wendy by the way) knew about this, and left him there without help for several weeks.
This horrible story isn't entirely filled with fail and suck, for he was able to keep two of his firearms, mainly because they were hidden when she raided and sold his collection. A sawn-off shotgun (Hidden in the wall of his room) and his M1 Carbine (In his bed-frame) which I will get the privilege to fire soon.
So, discuss.
