Is it really satire? Or is it a tribute? I don't think it's making fun of 8-bit games. It's weird that Sega is making this blatant Mario game, though.

I don't know if it's satire or not, but it's obvious that there are a lot of gags in this game. The mushroom is about as satirical as it gets, though.

Parody is probably the better word to describe it. ALRIGHT! It's a parody. I was just quoting Joystick's article on it. I am gonna do it again too. Super Cheesio Looks very Japanese. It looks awesome! I doubt it will be released in Europe or even America. No word on a stateside release yet, but it's set to debut in Japan on February 3rd for 500 Wii points.
