Umeko honestly wasn't sure what had possessed her to wander so far in the span of a single day. Perhaps it was the scent of the flowers in the distance calling out to her. It had been so long since she'd seen a field of flowers, after all. She felt compelled to at the very least find a tree that was still flowering. Somehow, seeing flowers always made her feel less alone.
The lioness paused, before giggling softly. How silly she would have sounded had anyone heard that thought! It almost made it sound like she preferred the company of flowers... Which was far from the truth. She loved the company of others just as much as she enjoyed her solitude. In fact, she was in the mood for some company right now. Maybe a handsome lion with a mane the color of the moon. The very thought made her heart flutter slightly. What she wouldn't give to meet a handsome lion meant just for her. Someone she could always count on to make her smile. The very thought made her lips curve upwards.
What a sight she made to any onlookers. A lioness who looked rather like a tree had become a part of her pelt, standing perfectly still and smiling almost wistfully up at the moon.

A pale yellow lioness wandered along the borders of her homelands she was finally through seething, done with feeling like she should just run. She had walked alone for most of the night just seething. The moon was high in the sky and like her mother the thought of the great lion watching always soothes her her anger ebbed and then was gone.
She was forming a plan, perhaps a mission a reason for leaving the pride if only for a few moons. She breathed in the night air and sighed. She stopped her walking abruptly when she noticed someone before her, it took a moment and Indu blinked many times to ensure she was seeing, what she was seeing. A lion..attached to a tree? That seemed silly, all of Baddie's family had flowers on their pelt surely this was the same case.
"Who's there?" her red eyes gleamed in the moonlight as she approached the lioness.

The sound of Indu's voice made Umeko jump slightly, and she quickly turned to look at the other lioness. She pushed down the disappointment that her romantic fantasies hadn't come true, her soft smile widening into a grin. If not now, then maybe some other night. She would meet her one true love someday, after all.
"I'm Umeko. Who might you be, miss?" she called into the night, her tail flicking absently at her feet.

Indu continued to approach the stranger, her voice was nice and Indu was young things like nice voices automatically meant that the creature behind it was trustworthy. The pale adolescent smiled broadly, "I am Indu, you are entering the Mwezi'Johari lands." she spoke as if it was common knowledge.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Umeko," she was eager to meet at outsider, the pride was small enough that it was easy to notice if someone was new or not. There were few Indu had direct contact with because of her mother's coddling, but she had met others in her home land.
"You were looking at the moon?" she wondered if others worshiped the Great Lion.

"I wasn't even aware that I'd entered another's lands. I was so busy daydreaming, I didn't really take notice of where my paws took me," Umeko said, embarrassment tinging her voice. She felt the skin of her cheeks heat up beneath her fur, but she quickly pushed it aside. She didn't want to seem rude, after all! With a renewed grin, Umeko bowed in Indu's direction, a graceful motion that belied many years of practice. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Indu."
The other lioness's question made Umeko pause slightly. Had she been gazing at the moon? It was entirely likely. She'd been so caught up in her daydreams of a lion with a mane the color of the celestial body that it was entirely possible she'd been staring up at it the entire time.
"I suppose I was. It certainly is beautiful tonight."

"We're small," she paused and thought, "but close pride." she smiles warmly the other lioness is quite friendly and reminds her a lot of the others that live in the land. No one has ever been truly mean to the little lioness in her life.
"His eye is wide tonight, it means he is watching," she nodded knowingly, "On the day of my birth the moon was watching and my m.." a twinge of anger rose, these were her mothers words she was speaking not her own. "They say those born under a full moon are protected by the Great Lion, the moon."
"Do you come from far away from here, Umeko?" The word Miss was not in her vocabulary.

"So in a way... Your pride is more like a big family," Umeko said wistfully, smiling and looking at the other lioness. The prospect of being a part of a big family was something that had always appealed to her. After all, for a good portion of her life, it had been just her and her mother. It had been very lonely...
The next words the come from Indu quickly caught Umeko's interest. She absorbed them, and her mind began to wander as her eyes drifted back up towards the moon. The thought of the moon being some great being's eye struck something deep within her and resonated with her entire being. It seemed right... "Perhaps this Great Lion you speak of is always watching, in one way or another."
Indu's next question made Umeko giggle softly. "I come from the far north. Where the winters are long and the summer flowers are rich with color," she said, waving a paw dramatically.

"We're not always family," a bitter tone slipped into her voice, she was deeply angry at Nerit and did not like to consider them family. "But yes small like an extended family.
"The Great lion is only watching when a moon is in the sky," Indu nodded and turned her crimson eye to the subject in question, "Sometimes he doesn't watch at all."
"I want to go far away from here, to explore...to see things through the world's eyes and to not listen to what ever my mother thinks is important."
"N-not to say that our pride is not wonderful..I just want more...you know? Perhaps outside blood would be good for all of us..I don't know."
