So, we're sitting in my NJROTC classroom and we are talking about the subject of astronomy. We got to a point in talking about something oddly supernatural (off topic) and continued on the topic for a bit.
After about fifteen minutes we somehow got onto the topic of World war II and then the holocaust.
This one girl, one whom my brother likes, said

"Wait, AC1 (our teacher assistant navy....guy..) what's the holocaust?"
I was mad, and not just like a little mad, but angry mad. I jumped up, pointed and yelled "Are you kidding me!?"

Now I politely ask her every morning what the holocaust is.
Her answer today was when Nazi's took over Britain.
"Wha?"

Big deal so she doesn't know about the holocaust. She really isn't missing out on anything. The "holocaust" just means that the evil Germans as a whole killed millions of Jews and thought they were superior for having blonde hair and blue eyes. Nobody cares about what really happened. The redundant tales are all they will feed the youth no matter how historically inaccurate it really is. No history is better than a bullshitted history.

I knew a kid who didn't understand why, as a Jew, I got pissed off when he "Nazi Saluted" me in my NJROTC uniform. After about six months of that crap, I finally told him to knock it off. One thing led to another, he called me Little Hitler, and I beat him across the head with a harddrive. Thar be such a thing as respect, even for the past.

Holocaust education is pointless to me. It's usually half assed at best. They claim there were over 9000 concentration camps (my history teacher who knows nothing of 4chan or internet memes always uses this statement). They claim that 6 million Jews were executed and stick to that number as if God himself wrote it even though there is no proof as to the true number of victims. They show this as an evil that Germany as a whole committed rather than the truth that the National Socialist political party rather than the whole nation did this horrible act. The Jews are the only ones victimized and all other "undesirables" such as physically and mentally impaired, gypsies, homosexuals, and Communists are shoved in a corner and ignored.


It's like teaching a kid to shoot and telling him to place the barrel firmly against his shoulder before firing. If you're not going to teach an important topic accurately then you shouldn't teach it at all.

Now, I do believe that it's important for people to know certain things in the past like big events, but to be told that, at 6:47 AM on June 4th 1942, Hitler probably trimmed his mustache, and are expected to know that and accept it as fact is bullshit.

What i sometimes fund works is explaning to them are the following:
Eugenics and how it will not include them.
Euthenasia and how its not school girls
Survival of the fittest and not survival of the titist ((god awful pun, I know))
And how when the world melts down there hances of survival will not break a double diget as far as a persentage.
