It had been several weeks now since Iartuupe had seen Posca. But word had come to him... of the birth of cubs - carried on the wings of ravens who sometimes brought him bits of information in return for carrion.
And Iar was more than pleased with the news they had brought this time - leaving almost an entire meal uneaten for them to squabble over as he headed for the edge of the pride lands.
He knew where she was currently resting as well... but he intended to watch carefully, and take what he considered to be his before she could show up to actually do anything about it.
It didn't really occur to the dark male that Posca would likely hear the cries of her young ones no matter where she was...
But even had he thought of it, he wouldn't have considered it a huge obstacle. From what he had seen of Posca, she was not one to fight. She would give up her cubs to him easily - or so he thought.
-------------------------------
Ah ... and not too far outside the pride's borders, he spotted the small den the goddess had taken as her own, with little bundles of fur inside and out, playing or sleeping .... and no mother in sight.
Stepping into view, the large male smirked. "Hello little ones..." he purred. "Time to come home..."

"Home?" The bright red male, perched up high asked, ruby eyes not giving off any air of youth or innocence. They were eyes that seemed to belong to some old soul, not a cub, and foretold of someone that would be wise beyond their years, as the needyness of infancy wore off. As he spoke that one word, he tilted his head to the side, his dark mane-tuft falling over one eye, and his tail flickered. He, almost regally, placed one paw over the other, as he lay on his perch, as contented as could be.
He hadn't a clue that this male was his father. In fact, the only others he knew was his mother, and siblings. For all his looks of wisdom and regalia, he had no knowledge of what was to take place.

(( Gazali His pic is too big xd )) Gazali looked up from where he had been watching his siblings play. So this was his father. The resemblance was obvious. 'Time to come home' he said... that was a bit confusing to Gazali. Why was now 'time'? Why not earlier? He had been waiting awhile for the mysterious figure he'd been Seeing come to take him to his rightful place. He knew he could do great things for his father's pride. His ability would serve him well as it always had. He sat up and waited, eager to go and yet he knew he would miss his mother. She helped give him his gift after all.. maybe he would visit one day.... maybe not. He frowned, knowing not all of his siblings would be as honored to go or would even make it. Oh well.. they'd be insignificant to his plans then. He looked up at Iar and nodded, finally speaking his first words to anyone "I'm ready Father."

Sesere looked up from where she'd been playing with a little ball of grass ... and immediately the small female's eyes widened in something akin to fear.
Who was... this? He was big...
The small cub didn't know much about her world yet, only knew that she liked food, and she loved to play... and she liked her siblings... most of the time.
"Isn't... this our home...?" she half-whispered, shrinking down against the ground with ears going back a little.

Within the cool shade of the temporary den, Gizamulika had been resting peacefully, dreaming away the hot daylight hours while waiting for Momma to come back from where ever she'd gone to. Eventually some sound of her siblings rustling about caused her to wake...and with waking came horrors worse than any nightmare.
Something huge and black, bearing down upon their haven. Ill intentions, wicked actions, and a den left empty and torn apart...A flash of teeth and the shaking of the earth from a great noise...
With a jolt the cub was on her feet, eyes wide and breath coming quickly. Before she could regain her senses fully she saw...there! Not from above, but from ground level now...the Scary Thing was coming! Somehow what she'd seen had yet to transpire...In her distress and fear, the cub darted from the den before the Scary Thing got any closer. In a blaze of magenta and white she was away, adrenaline and terror giving her the power to run. She had to hide...Surely what she'd seen, what was happening now...this was still a bad dream, right?((For the record, Giza's NOT going to the demons...she's running away and hiding, later to go find her mum.))

A smell, unfamiliar to the youth's nose, wafted through the hot air of the savannah. It grasped his attention like a hand, reaching out and coaxing his eyes away from the happenings occurring inside of the cave. The invisible fingers ran down his cheeks and turned his head to the outside world. Something dark lingered out there...
Suddenly the youngster sprang to his small paws from his seated position upon the warm dusty ground. A being, dark in color with splotches of red, was nearing his siblings. A powerful force, the great fear, lunged out from it's murky depths to burn it's being into the cubs bright eyes.
Suddenly he was off, racing towards them and the stranger. With heart thumping, Thandion allowed his paws to take him and lead him towards whoever it was. Courage was with him. A bellow, one mixed with bravery and fright, emerged from the young male's voice as he cried, "Who are you?!" His eyes directed upon the other thing. Never before had he seen someone quite like this. It wasn't like his mother, nor his siblings. It was...a monster...an unnatural creature.
Rearing back and puffing out his chest, the lad attempted once more to seem large against the other, his body coming round to stand before his blood, in an attempt to be there shield. "A-Answer me!" Cried the scream as it trembled and shook, his visage of courage fading as fast as it had come.

Shilo had been asleep when the monster came. Now she awoke with a jolt, fear instantly running through her veins. What... what was going on? She frowned and looked around with dark eyes, her limbs starting to tremble.
Where was momma...? Where was she? She whimpered and mewed hopelessly, shakily moving to stand. She hobbled over towards her brothers and cowered behind them for protection, her eyes wide with fear. She didn't want to go anywhere! Mom would be back soon, surely...

Phlegyas rose in tangent with his siblings, watching their mixed reactions, nearly following Giza in her flight, but he turned, Iartuupe's own eyes stared back at him. He could smell the fear and tension and anger seeping through the air, but it was all less than the mass of their father. He stepped in front of his weak sister, Shilo, silently wishing Than wouldn't challenge him so rashly, and that Marrikh would do something about calming everyone else. Phle was just as helpless as all the rest, however, no matter how hard he tried to ignore his own emotions and wrath festering inside of his tiny purple chest.

Silly creatures, her siblings. Silly and endearing for the most part. Kifatamu stepped forward, eyeing this large lion, bright and dark he was, all at once, a shining flame, and a looming nightmare. She could see the shadows dance about him, flickering on either side, blood trailing 'neath his paws. Oh but he was fascinating. Blood. Kin...he had sired her, courted her mother dearest, she could see them walking together, decay and this demonic entity.
He'd come to take them home, said he? Well that was all well and good, but she had no name for him. Walking slowly up to him, unflinching, her dark eyes blinked once, twice, and she smiled faintly, "And who are you, father-demon?" After all, kin was not a name...the knowledge was no name, she wanted a name, was impatient for it, gaze flickering with some unknown hunger.

Looking first to Marrick, Iar nodded and made a noise that was oddly somewhere between a growl and a purr. "Yes...home. To where you all belong and the demons within you can thrive."
Then, to Gazali, Iar made that purring sound again and inclined his head slightly. It was good that this one thought he was ready - though the black and red male wondered if he truly was.
He growled at the first girl to speak however, taking a step closer. "Of course this is not your home," he replied. "You belong with me, and others of our kind."
Not even noticing the cub that snuck away, Iar's attention was caught by the bold little male with dark wings on his back. Well... he certainly had spirit, that was good. Though the defiance, he could have done without. "I have told you who I am," he half-snarled. "I am your father... you are mine, you all belong to me."
He ignored the other girl and the boy with a black paw print as well since they were silent and not doing anything to raise his ire any more for the moment.
Ah, and then a worth question from the last girl, her eyes dark like her mother's but with a mad gleam quite similar to his own. He purred to her as well, actually smiling faintly. "My name ... is Iartuupe."
Then, to all of them at once. "Come. Follow me and I shall take you home. I don't care if you wish to come or not. You will follow. Now." And the dark male turned and started walking.

Curiosity, that's how Marrikh explained it to himself. Mere curiosity that made him leap down from his perch and follow, a dark brow lifted, as ruby eyes, redder than even his pelt seemed to take on a sceptically curious gleam. Meanwhile he thought to himself; Quite demanding, this 'father', this 'Iartuupe'. That, he didn't like. Marrikh had a feeling there would be alot about this 'home' he didn't like. But curiosity spured him on, into a darkness he would not yet know how to see.
