 Ellie couldn't help but growl as she glared at the dark rock before her. That stupid-head Moricorm had mocked her! Called her a non-demon! Said she was too bright and happy! The black cub couldn't help but want to latch onto her tail and gnaw it off. But she wouldn't do that. No...Ellie knew not all the bigger demons would tolerate that. Her Mommy had warned her. Well...one day, Ellie would show Ri! She'd come out of her Name Quest and that stupid-head big-demon would have to acknowledge her!
That made Ellie grin and perk up. Yeah! She'd be the best demon ever! Maybe she'd be a Tirma'eth like her mother...or maybe an Arma'eth! She'd love to guard to Aran'shale themselves! Well...Mister Verge'lian more than Mister Iartuupe. Ellie shivered. Sese's father scared Ellie a lot...

Nonnodi was usually the type to stay by his mother's side, watching the adults come and go. Frankly, some of the larger demons frightened him. He often wondered if it was the Naming Quest that made everyone so big and strong and awesome. He hoped so. He was sick and tired of being afraid to go to sleep at night.
All that being said, something had possessed Nonni to go on a little adventure today. He didn't wander far, but he did spot a cub about his age; a girl. He walked over carefully, head held high even if he felt like shoving it low and tucking his tail.
"Hullo."

Ellie blinked and turned, curious about the new voice. Another cub...this one smaller than her, but looked to be about the same age. She grinned brightly, her mind distracted from her old thoughts.
"Hi! I've never seen you b'fore! Are you new?" Had one of the other females had cubs too, like her mother? His colored looked kinda familiar. Oh! That one weird shadow-lion with the funny eyes! She bounced a little, on her feet now and looked playful. "I'm Lith'elen...but most call me Ellie!"

Nonni's eyes went wide. Hrm. This certainly was a happy cub. He hadn't seen many happy cubs before (if any?). At least she didn't seem to want to eat him!
"I'm new," he said, giving a soft little nod, "New-ish." Personally, he didn't know if he even had a father. He just had his mum! "Ellie? I'm Nonnodi."

"Nonnodi~ That's a nifty name!" She bounced a bit, happy at meeting someone who didn't immediately scoff at her or call her weird. "You look kinda familiar~ Who's your Mommy or Daddy?" She straightened a bit. "Mine's Hakuna'jina, the first Tirma'eth of the pride!"
Ellie was so proud of her mother...Strong, and quick, and smart. And a perfect Sparda-demon!

Nonni gave a little nod. He was young yet, and still struggling to memorize the names of ranks and what they did. Luckily, he seemed to be a fair student.
"My momma's Haramu. I dunno who my daddy is. I bet I look like him." because he really didn't look much like his mother!

Ellie thought for a moment, then blinked and grinned. "I know who Haramu is! Mommy talks to her sometimes. She's a Tsa...Tsafare! Makes sure we have lots of food!" She laughed.
"I bet you do! Though you have miss Haramu's fur color in your head and tail tufts!"

Nonni nodded first at the mention of his mother's role in the pride, and then again at the comment about his "mane" and tail. He hung his head. They were light-colored and not very bright. Unsatisfactory. He had seen his siblings sent away for colors quite like his tail tuft.

The black-and-yellow cub growled playfully and grabbed one of Nonni's ears with her teeth. "Come on....don' fe down! T'e reft of fu if b'ack!" Her speech was a bit...impeded by the ear she was talking around, but the message was clear enough.
She thought he looked just fine. "Wanna wrefle?"

Nonni only understood part of that impeded rambling, but the very beginning and the butt-end made perfect sense. He figured that those were the important parts anyway.
"Sure," he said with a little nod and swatted Ellie in the face.

Ellie grinned and let go of his ear as he whacked her. Growling again, she took a couple steps back and tried to pounce him...A rather inglorious attempt considering she wasn't very good yet and a bit off-balance.

Considering his age, Nonni was pretty good on his feet. He stumbled, but managed to stay upright and lunge back at the little lioness, teeth bared. He took his wrestling very seriously.

With a squeak, Ellie fell on to her back. She attempted to roll out of her position, hoping she was quick enough to dodge her playmate. She wasn't much of a fight yet, but she wanted to be a good one. A very good one.

While the other cub successfully dodged out of Nonni's way, he was quick to reached out again, claws bared. He was close enough that he probably would be able to catch her in the chest.

The black and yellow cub yelped as Nonni's claws caught her chest before she could pop up. With another growl, she reared back and lashed out with a strike of her own. She'd seen her mother do it with Mvua before, so it had to be something that worked.
