I'm making my favorite sauce ever for dinner!
I'm a vegetarian but the rest of my family is not. Usually if my mom cooks and she's making something meat then she'll make me some type of fish or meat substitute.
So There's this sauce made from vinegar, soy sauce, and honey and I LOVE it! It's burns your nostrils while cooking but tastes awsome. I'm gonna pour it over some salmon. I hope it turns out good! ^.^

Of course the most exciting pert of my day is food. lol
Btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Vegetarians don't eat fish ._.;
PostPosted: Thu Apr 09, 2009 7:27 pm

She's the only vegetarian that eats fish.
And seafood.
XP
Y'know, sometimes I forget she's vegetarian.
XP

Fish technically aren't meat, they're in a food group all their own, aren't they?

Which brings me to one of my favorite veggy-related quote:
"I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals. I'm a vegetarian because I hate plants."

XDD

I'm a vegetarian, not vegan. Most vegetarians eat fish for protein because otherwise it's extremely difficult to get protein. Fish aren't considered part of being a vegetarian because they aren't raised on farmlands to be killed. Fish is more humane.
Have you ever seen that commercial against some fast food place that says they use beef from a cow whose calf is taken at birth to be made into veal? Yeah, that's why I don't eat meat.

Vegan means you don't eat or use any animal product at all. No milk, no leather, no meat, no sushi, no suede, no lard for cooking, nothing. It's crazy difficult to be vegan.

No.
Vegetarians don't eat fish >_<;
There's a whole different word for that >_>;
Most fish you buy is farmed to be killed, just because they are not on land does not mean that it is any more humane than what they do to cattle.

And I know plenty of actual vegetarians that find protein in other ways then fish, because, they don't eat fish.

Duh daar.

Most vegetarians eat fish. There's some statistic, I think 60 percent, that says vegetarians eat fish. It was in one of my books that people get me cuz they think I love reading about odd vegetarian related facts. Which I do on accasion.
Most fish are caught wild and killed much more humanely. Read the book Jungle then we can debate over this. I also had to read another book dealing with slaughterhouses. An open heart surgeon walked into the place and was so disgusted that he threw up. And the book Jungle is a thousand times worse.
Now fishing boats are dangerous towards the people but aren't inhumane.

I'm sure the fish enjoy suffocating.

Find me a book on the plight of fish on a boat then I will care.
Also once you read The Jungle. The writer wasn't even trying to talk about slaughterhouses, he was talking about socialism but people were so disgusted with the facts about slaughterhouses that it caused a full movement.
Quote "I aimed for their hearts and landed in their stomachs."
And I learned this after I became a vegetarian.

Thank ya, Yoshy-san and Deidara-san. :3
And on the new subject (which came from where, exactly? xDD)
Personally...
I think vegetarians are crazy. (O.o)
I mean, people are at the top of the food chain, right? So don't we get to eat whatever we want?
Other omnivores don't seem to have a problem with eating other critters... sometime before their prey is dead. Did you know that? Aminals will some times eat each other alive. 3nodding
Not that I agree with the unethical treatment of animals. I'm not saying they are ours to trod on, I'm just saying it's not wrong to nom them.
I believe in treating the poor beasts properly... before we kill them and eat them for dinner. :3

I guess you could say I believe in the whole Circle of Life stuff.
Don't take more than you need, and make sure to give back just as much.
Seeing as I'm best friends with a vegetarian, I don't think them crazy ( except for this particular veggie-eater! But she's crazy for other reasons. ;D ).
Don't bite off more than you can chew, ya know?
I too agree with Noii on the animal thing.
I love animals enough not to wish upon them any misfortune, but I still eat them.
It's just the way we are.

I'm not trying to change the world into vegetarians either. It's my choice and part of it isn't even for ethical reasons. It's also a health choice and economy choice. It takes something like 8 pounds of wheat to feed cattle for one pound of meat. Something like that anyway.
But I don't push it on anyone. Just ask Spazz, everyone at luch eats meat in front of me then makes fun of the fact that I can't eat it. It's my choice not theirs so I'm not gonna bother them. Though I will tell you useless facts and statistics!
