That had been a terrible discussion with his great grandmother. He knew the traditions of the pride, the expectations everyone had for members of this family to settle down and find a mate, pop out lots and lots of cubs. He wasn't knocking that life, not if that's what his family wanted to do, but even now he was having a hard time looking at himself that way. He didn't see that in his future, that was for sure.
"Why am I even thinking about this," he muttered, plopping down in front of a lazy creek that fed off from the river. He stared down at his face in the slowly flowing water, his distorted image looking back up at him. Did it mean he fit into this family less because he didn't want that type of fairy tale ending? He didn't think so, but that talk had really got the gears of his mind turning.

He'd gotten away from his family for a bit and decided to wander down by the rivers again. It seemed like everyone but him and his sister was settling down and finding mates and living happy lives. He wanted that to be him damn it ... well sorta.
He wanted a girl he could still have fun with and play with, sorta like his sister but not her cause she was mean. But ... it didn't seem like he was going to find that.
Sighing he shook his head and looked up. "Oh ... guess i'm not the only one asking the water questions." He grinned as he saw someone else

Ozzy let his red gaze swirl around until it landed upon the newcomer. At first his brows furrowed, trying to recall why the younger male looked so damnably familiar to him. Then, with a little nod, he realized that the tell-tale colors of the coat marked him as one of the many cubs of his grandfather.
"Uh, yeah, I suppose that's what I'm doing," he said with a little shrug, turning his gaze back to the little creek before him. He reached out with one red-tipped white paw, poking at the surface, and then drew it back. He glanced back at the boy again. "You're Kodwe'Tifu, right?" He supposed he should have known his own uncle's name, but there were so many, and these were born after he was besides.

He smiled and nodded at his name. "Yea. I guess that means you're one of ... well you're related to Dad right?" He knew his familly was huge and he'd never had the chance to learn all of his relatives or their names.
"I'm bad with names ... i'm sorry. I should know yours if you know mine."

"Uh, no, don't apologize for that," he said with an awkward smile and a shake of his head. Well, this was super awkward, for sure. "I'm older than you, so I guess it makes more sense that I'd know your name than it would for you to know mine." He nodded now though, in confirmation of his earlier statement. "But yeah, I'm related to your dad. He's.. my grandpa." It was only just now that the tangled webs of this family hit him, and he couldn't help the small laugh. "I guess that makes you my uncle, right?"

"I should still know ... even more so if you're my nephew" He laughed slightly himself. "I guess i should put that on a list to do. Figure out family members and names." His tail ticked behind him as he looked at the other. He usually didn't find family members wandering around out here except for his sister.
"So ... since i'm your uncle and all. you out here for some reason? I mean i know i'm young but, well, i've got ears and i can listen if you've got problems."

He laughed at the pledge his young uncle made, one brow quirking at the idea of trying to figure out all the family members and names. "That might take you quite a long time, I think the only one that would have all that information is probably Bibi Syeira. She's obsessive, that's for sure." He said it with a light smile and tone, obviously not really knocking their grandmother (and the queen) in the slightest. Even if she was the reason for his current predicament.
"I don't think you're really required to sit and listen just because you're my uncle, especially considering you're younger and all," although the prospect did make him chuckle softly. "But I guess it wouldn't hurt to have someone listen." He let out a deep sigh as he flicked his tail, the half-blonde tuft dragging through the grass around him. "I just had a rather interesting talk with Bibi Syeira, that's all. By interesting, of course, I mean uncomfortable."

"I know i dont' -have- to but ... well i guess i want to?" He didn't have anything else to do and maybe it would take his mind off his own troubles. It was harder to think about your own issues when you were thinking about someone elses.
"Uncomfortable? She wasn't angry with you was she?"

"No, she wasn't angry, at least not really. She was serious about it, and she'd probably be angry if I lied and it all actually happened, but she was teasing me I think." He frowned as he realized he was rambling and not making any sense at all, turning his gaze towards his younger uncle instead.
"Uh, she was just talking about how I need to settle down and find a mate. Then, when I told her I didn't want to, she lectured me about.." he trailed of here, screwing up his face. This was the uncomfortable part. "About 'sowing my seed' in too many places and making a riot of young lionesses for her to deal with." He even managed a decent imitation of her chiding voice.

"You mean ... you dont want a mate?" He blinked slightly startled at that thought. He wanted one of those. SOmeone who would play with him forever and keep him company. How could you not want that?
"I came out here to mope about not having one, or anything close to one ... the only girl i really know is my sister." He scrunched his nose slightly. "Could you introduce me to any of the girls?" He perked up slightly at the idea. "They probably wouldn't like me though .. girls dont want short mates." and he was still short compared to everyone else.

"Well, no, not really. I want to have fun." He glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, then quickly away again. He might not really want to elaborate on that with someone so much younger than he was. "I'm not ready to buckle down and find a mate, start a family. She wants me to, it's kind of tradition, I guess." He shrugged his shoulders. "I just don't want to right now, not for a while."
"A mate, really? So young?" he chuckled, though it wasn't really degrading in any way. Though, at the request to introduce him to some of the girls he knew, his brows rose quickly. Well, he didn't really think his uncle would be interested in girls like that, not if he was looking for a mate. "I've really only met rogues, but I can keep my eyes peeled for nice Kusini girls, if you want me to?"

"Well if you dont want a mate i dont see why you should have to settle down with one." he shook his head. "I want to have fun too. I want a mate that will have fun with me. Ya know, someone who'll always play with me even if we're old" That was his perfect girl. he just hadn't found her yet. She was out there somewhere.
"I dont mind if she's not from here, i mean so long as she was willing to stay with me." He didn't really want to leave his family ever.

"Yeah, I suppose you're right," he said with a nod, "if I don't want to settle down right now, then I shouldn't do it just to please anyone." He supposed as long as he didn't go around making trouble for his grandmother, then she didn't really have anything to complain about. He supposed he'd just keep to rogues, and not the pride girls. He didn't need that trouble.
"Well, I guess you should start looking then," his grin fell into place as he looked over at him with those bright red eyes. "In the pride or outside of it, you'll know her better than anyone else will when you meet her."

He nodded again and smiled. "I am looking. I just haven't found her yet but she's out there somewhere, i just know it." She would come along eventually and they could live happily ever after.
"I'm sure she'll understand. And you never know. Maybe you'll find someone you want to stay with while you're playing."

"I'm sure she's out there, yeah," he smiled up at the kid, and pushed himself up to his feet.
"I think you're right, anything's possible." He had never really thought about that, but he supposed while he was 'playing' it was quite possible to find someone he enjoyed enough to settle down with. "You're better at this advice thing than I thought you'd be, kiddo." He chuckled, flicking his tail, and turned to look out at the horizon.
"You keep looking for that mate, alright, and let me know how it goes? I need to go talk to my own sister a bit. She's leaving soon, I'd like to see her again before she goes."
