Neo-Nazism in Russian

I was recently prowling the internet (specifically on YouTube) when I found a very interesting video.

A basic summary of the video is that its about the current rise of Neo-Nazism in former Soviet controlled states and even in Russia itself.

Now the thing that boggles my mind is how strange this all is since Nazi Germany almost destroyed Russia off the map. Whats even worse is that these people are blindly following an ideal that was created by a hated enemy over 80 years ago.

Discuss logically and give your opinion on the matter.

No matter how I try, I just can't quite wrap my mind around it. Maybe, perhaps, it's the extreme sense of national pride as former Bloc countries try to find themselves after near Fifty years of Russian rule?

Could be.

From what I read in an article, they attack foreigners because they are not of "Russian" descent. Now I guess I can kinda understand that if they see people that were not born in their country taking jobs and the such then I suppose that could be the cause for them seeking the "White supremacy" move. Still though from a different perspective, they should be proud that they have people wanting to move to their country, not to hurt, but help it grow and prosper.

Another thing is how they blatantly follow the Nazi ideal when most of their fathers and forefathers either died or served during WW2.

I wonder if it could have anything to do with the positive effects Nazism had on the German economy? I know they're not actually related, but as we all know, correlation means causation.

Russia is dealing with national economic stress (strengthened by this crisis, but alive since early into the Cold War) and there is a lot of ethnic tensions between native Russians and the influx of refugees and migrants, especially from poorer neighbouring states like Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Then, there is the civil war that recently just ended for the second time between Russia and the Muslim province of Chechnya within Russia's borders. This has caused a lot of hatred for Muslims not unlike what the US has built over the past eight years since September 11, 2001.

The Neo-Nazi's largely believe that Russia could benefit more from cultural homogeny and strict anti-immigration policies, to ensure Russian money doesn't get sent back to Uzbekistan. In other words, they are like your own British National Party, but more extreme and alongside political movements, it also has extensive networks of gangs that commit racially charged violence.

Ross Kemp on gangs did an interesting episode on Russian Neo-Nazi's I would recommend to any interested in exploring that aspect.

What a bunch of dumbasses. My family line is a product of the ******** nazi's and their concentration camps*, the idea of anyone descending from Russian/Ukranian blood supporting Neo-nazism is really bizarre to me, and disrespectful to their families.

*My grandmother was held in a concentration camp, she came out with schizophrenia and a child- anyone want to take a guess what happened to her?

I gotta say, my Grandfather was actually a German soldier during World War II. Hated the Nazi party, but, he was conscripted, so, what could he do? Ended up becoming a POW, then immigrated to the US. Became very vocal about the Nazis, wanted 'em hung with a piano wire noose, really.
