"I hope you skipped breakfast, Armada! You're about to have to eat all those words."
They stood facing off for a short period, swapping a bit of friendly but competitive banter before the match up. Uuo's entire body felt like it was tingling with energy.
Finally, the Firekin were starting to see some real life again. Since the traditionalists rejoined things had been tense for a while, but what better way to dispel that than to begin a series of sparring matches? Uuo was immediately taken with the idea, and she knew just who she'd like to start with.
A certain soldier had been talking an awful lot of loud smack about guards, and though Uuo didn't know if it was good natured or not she found it amusing all the same. She had purposely brought Azar along for this match as well, thinking it would be good for him to see that being a guard didn't mean one didn't, or shouldn't, need to be a capable fighter too, it just meant knowing how to operate in both modes.
It had been surprising to find out that Armada was the one talking "ill" of the guards, though from one that did a lot of smack talking herself she, again, wasn't upset or offended by it. Hell, the prospect of today's match up really got her blood pumping. She'd not only get to see what Armada was made of, finally, with her own eyes, but she'd also probably just found someone she'd be able to call a friend for life-- a kindred spirit.
She lunged then, charging right into the match without any indication of holding back but to keep it friendly rather than seeking to seriously injure or kill the other. Uuo made immediate use of her brutish size, too, throwing her full weight into the first swing aimed for Armada's head-- testing the waters.
