It was early evening and Xiang was currently stretching himself into wakefulness, he didn't have anything to attend to. His life was quiet now, smooth, steady, he didn't trust it for an instant. Since it was evening Xi had no reason to sit still, so climbing out of his small cave-den, he set out at a swift trot. He thought perhaps he'd head to the lower springs, his last attempt had been interrupted. Continuing that thought made him frown harshly, a annoyed growl murmuring from his throat, but he shook it off, this time, he would have a free evening to go there, perhaps even a visit to his mother, if she were not busy with her duties, of course.

Sira had once again risen early, to go through his training movements. Yes, he was an adult. But he could not afford to slip. Especially not now that he was helping Haramu with her cubs, which made him a role model. He stopped. The thought of the pale female demon still made him feel strange. Snorting, he shook his head...and then blinked.
A flash of pale color that wasn't Haramu's had caught his eye. Turning towards it, he saw the younger lion, pale fur mixing with fiery colors. And the pink of scars, old and new. Curious, he trotted forward. He'd heard there was another pale demon, one of the Ele'aine's sons. "Good evening."

Xiang blinked as he trotted forwards, someone called out to him in the fading light, a grey male with fiery feathers at his ears, Xiang didn't know him. Xi halted and lightly bowed his head to the other. "Indeed, the night is young." Xiang's tone was guarded when he returned the greeting, but he wasn't in a poor mood, so instead of continuing on with just that, he glanced over the elder male his eyes picking out the dark scars in the fading light. "I must admit that I don't know you, which is only fault of my own, I am called Xiang."

Sira bowed a bit, as a show of respect to the younger male. His fur was pale...but because of Haramu, Sira knew better than to underestimate any pale-furred demon. "I am Mori'earsira...though Sira is perfectly fine." He was rather interested in all that scars that marred Xiang's fur though. "You look like you learned to fight the hard way." Perhaps his age-mates had decided pale fur was to be picked on. Sadly...it was something Sira knew would always be common.

"Sira, then." A rare grin split Xiang's maw, "So they say, I have to admit, after all this time, I might have enjoyed it, I'm rather good at fighting now." Xi's expression stayed pleasant but the smile faded. Sira seemed to Xi one of the calmer members of the pride, he didn't radiate a vicious anger like some of the others Xi had encountered, and his coat was on the paler side, Xi tried to not judge based on that, but it was something the pride taught, something he heard all his life, it happened automatically, he frowned then, thinking that perhaps Sira's thoughts were following a similar train, he was probably thinking that Xiang was a weak demon, or even a slave and that his scars were only a sign of that weakness. That Xi was not a threat, he felt his mood souring, though he had been trying to change such a mindset.

"I know another like that." He nodded, almost to himself. "Her teacher, though well-meaning, was a harsh one when it came to fighting. Always pushed Haramu just further than her limits." He chuckled. "You ought to meet her some day. She's pale-furred, like you. And rather interesting." Why was it the pale ones seemed to catch his attention? Perhaps it was simply that his own coat, had it not been gray but some other color, could have been considered pale as well...

"Another pale demon?" He murmured, this caught his attention, truth was, Xi usually paid little attention to the prides' current females, he tried to think. Had he seen a pale female, from the way Sira put it, she knew how to fight well and so Xi thought it safe to assume that she was not a slave, and that at least he did not look down upon her.
"Perhaps I had," He nodded, this bit of news nipped at his thoughts, they had still been somewhere else until this point, Xi wondered what Sira's relation to this pale lady was. "Does she dish out harsh lessons of her own?" His eyebrow arched, and his front claws dug into the dry earth.

Sira nodded. "Haramu teaches her young as she must. She is harsh when needed, gentle when required. She is...well, a bit of an odd demon, compared to many of those I have seen in the pride." But she was a perfect Sparda demon. Noble, as well as strong. "She is still just a Tsafare...but she awaits the day when her pride needs her as she was trained."

"Pale cubs?" His soft query was almost laughed out, but he held the humor in, and swallowed his judgments down. Hunter, only our dreams may go higher. "Odd, for a demon." As if he had not heard that one before, still he tried to not judge nor show his anger. "What has she trained for, this odd pale demon?"
Currently Xiang was learning the finer points of defending the land the hellfire children had claimed, his ambition reached further than his station allowed, and he had not yet come to terms with that, he wanted more, to show the pride, one way or another what he believed in, he was just as strong and worthy of respect and status as any other demon of the pride, he wondered if this Haramu was content in her place, or if she- like him, longed for something else. Xi was also curious about Sira, it seemed he held some respect for this lady, unless Xiang was mistaken.

The Arca'an chuckled, a sound almost as monotonous as his voice. "Her cubs actually have little in the way of pale coloring." The ones he knew of. He still had no idea she'd had more...and that she'd taken those from the pride to avoid having to enslave or kill them. "She trained for the same thing I did...to be one of Sparda's knights. From the tales she's told me her teacher was a lioness very loyal to Sparda and his ideals."

"Morifaer must have smiled upon her family," Xi commented dryly but Sira still held his interest. Arca'an. A knight of Sparda the noble, even that was too far for him and his pale pelt. Xiang tried to hide his disgust as his own juvinile voice echoed his past desires back to him, 'I want to be a knight!' ... "And do you Arca'an Sira, think such a bright day will come when the pride would need a pale knight to defend it's lands?"

Morifaer smiling on Haramu's family....perhaps. After all, he knew her mother had birthed demons too. Even an Ele'aina. "Perhaps. With the forces gathering to the south against us, I believe the time will come when those who cannot see past coloring will be forced to see the demons within, rather than the form they chose."
