I've been lurking here for a while, but I've honest never done any thing like geocaching. I mean, I'm interested and stuff, but I don't know how to go about with starting.
Basically, I'm a complete and total noob. halp?

You've come to the right place- We would be happy to help ^^
First off, do you have a geocaching.com account or a GPSr yet?

Most Geocachers are friendly people if you know any or if you ever see one on a trail do not be afraid to ask for help. I one time was geocaching and to people asked what I was doing. I explained and they ask if they could go with me, I said sure. They had a blast and bought a gps very shortly after that. Also some phones have programs you can use in them if you want to try that.

True. I was at our local geocacher meeting recently and someone had a geocaching app on their iPhone.
Just always remember that it's okay to tell a "muggle" about geocaching and take them with you if they are interested. But try not to let random muggles spot you retrieving a cache container. It might get "muggled" as we say.
