The night was young, and Thona was restless. While most of the pride was up during the day... he slept most the day and was up at the ending of day and the beginning of night. Lots of things could be done at night that he couldn't do in the day with watching eyes. But today, he was just on his thrown, or rather two bits of rocks that made it look like one, watching over the pride and if any trust passers come. It was easier to see at night for him.
It was boring when there was no one else to at least take his attention too other then staring at nothingness. The bugs of the land chirped rather fast since it was kind of a warm night. Which made the night go slower when alone.

Nia's eyes were two golden orbs in the darkness as she sneaked out into the warm night air. A soft purr of amused relief left her throat as she realized that she had finally managed to be outside to herself. Not that she minded Abrafo's constant company, but the leopardess was far more comfortable with the idea of some space.
Plus, she hadn't managed to see the pride on her own. Every time she went out hunting there was always someone near and Nia was always too busy with her prey to pay much attention to anything else. She was tempted to go out and track down food for the morning, except it was far too early in the night.
A cricket hopped into her path and Nia with a low growl pounced after the insect. It felt like forever since she could enjoy herself under the cover of darkness with only the flashing bugs and the moon and stars as a guide. Bouncing the captured insect in her paws, Nia quickly stopped and tossed the cricket aside before looking back around. Surely, no one had seen her childish display?
Actually now that Nia thought about it, she realized not many if any were out now after the sun had truly set. Though she looked towards the throne by habit. When would she request an audience with Thona? Nia already knew Abrafo planned to stay here, but what of herself?
A sigh escaped. If Abrafo was here, and if she hadn't found anything herself...then maybe it was time to actually accept that she was tempted to stay here as well. It was rather interesting after all. Nia couldn't deny that. Already her paws were walking towards the throne where she thought she had seen a flicker of movement. It was time to make a decision.

Thona watched movement. At first he was slightly alarmed and growled, though, it only took a few moments before he realized who it was. It was that leopardess he had grown interested in one thing, and one thing only.He didn't care about the childish play, even if he himself would never be caught doing that. Even when he thought he was alone. It just wasn't something fun to him. Thona watched the leopardesses movements carefully, yet with little interested. At least it gave him something to do in the dead of the night.
He waited. So she was moving towards him, this made it easy. He didn't have to chase after her. He hated chasing after females. It made it easier to let them come to him and let him work his charm. Though, he knew it wasn't going to be about anything but joining the pride... but he could at least TRY to woo her... And it wasn't like Nan was anywhere close He could even do it right where he sat. She was asleep and probably wouldn't believe her eyes even if she did see it.

Nia's pawsteps faltered as she approached the throne. But it wasn't nerves or fear that made her hesitate. Instead she was trying to remember how to make a respectful approach.
How was she going to speak to him? The leopardess blinked innocently, how exactly would Abra address Thona in this situation? Nia shook her head with a sigh. She'd just use a title and hope that it was one that wouldn't upset the leader.
"Your...your majesty?" Nia spoke softly into the night as she approached the throne slowly. Her gaze stayed to the side as she spoke, "I hope to not be a bother, but I need to speak with you about-" Pausing the leopard looked up towards Thona before looking back to the ground, "I'm interested in staying as a member of your pride, sire."

Funny title, Majesty.... He wasn't use to that, but it was nice. He blinked at her as she made her intentions clear. He yawned and eyed her for a moment. "Oh? Well, that's interesting." He spoke with a twisted smile. "Though. You shouldn't look at the ground when talking to someone with power" He told her a little tip. " It shows your weak, you don't want to be weak in this type of pride. It could get you killed" He told her. " But if you want to join the pride, you and more then welcome" He told her. "You just got to become more strong."

Nia looked up with a startled expression before nodding. So he didn't mind if she looked up! And she could join the pride! Her surprise over the weak comment made her miss Thona's twisted smile. Somehow his words greatly helped to ease her worry, maybe this leopard wasn't as strict as some of the other royals she had only heard vaguely about.
"It could kill me, but just because I may seem weak-" Nia paused and stretched her claws into the ground, "Well I'm not a good hunter because I'm weak, sire."
She smiled at Thona as she sheathed her claws, "I'll try my best to become stronger though so no one can think of me as weak. Thank you for that advice, sire."
Turning Nia paused and looked over her shoulder, "I should get back now...unless there's anything else?" Would she have to prove her hunting skills or anything? Really Nia was completely unused to these pride concepts...what was she supposed to do now? Did she have to ask for his permission to leave or was their something she had to pass in order to really join the pride? But Thona hadn't really declared any quest or challenge for her.

He was strict, but in a totally different way as others. He wanted a pride full of fighters, warriors that would listen to his every call. He wanted to take over the land in which he knew so much. Wanted to spread the fear into those who seemed to think that life was great and there was nothing to fear. Though, Thona knew that his plans would happen long after he was dead. He could only insure to put it in the right direction.
"That is where you have to train...." He spoke to her in a calm emotionless voice. "See, Puppet, everyone in this pride should be taught how to take care of themselves. " He paused " I mean, what will happen if someone out there attacks you and no one else is there to save your pretty little behind?" He said with a smirk. "Trying is not an option... Your going to get stronger" He wanted to hear the right words come from her mouth. Why did everyone say try? Saying that word.... Try... Was for those who were weak and knew they couldn't do what needed to be done.
A smirk landed again on Thona's face. Something else, well he could think of something else. Though, he didn't know how to go about it. At least not directly. "Well, there are many things you could do for me." There wasn't any real quest or challenge. Sure he watched them before and after they'd join the pride. If they started problems well, he could handle them carefully. "See, I have this little issue. I can't really have fertile children with Nande." Which wasn't really true... Or was it? He had heard many rumors that hybrids were infertile, but he wasn't sure about it. None of his kids have yet to proven if they could or couldn't. He'd have to push his son Thanos into trying.

Nia nearly laughed, "I take it you don't like to hear 'try'. Yes, I'll become stronger, sire. Though my pretty little behind was alone most of my life, so I understand there are dangers." Nia nodded and looked out at the sky. There was no way that she'd go down without a fight. Though she did realize that Abrafo's presence had been making her guard lower more than it ever had been before.
Fast as lightening, Nia's gaze turned back to Thona with sharp interest. So there was something she could do! But the things that came to mind quickly died out with his next words. "There is no way to have fertile heirs? Has your majesty not talked about it with her?" Nia kept herself from backing up. She had heard about the infertility before, but never had she really thought about it until this moment. Surely he wasn't about to suggest?

He wasn't trying to seem as if he was joking. He glared at her when she laughed. He wasn't sure she was taking this seriously. He let a low growl. "It's nothing to laugh about, this pride isn't for the weak." He spoke. "It's no joke, being in this pride and weak will get you killed." He added "There are things we are to do that other prides won't really agree on and might try to attack us." Though he never thought about a curse, he didn't believe in gods.
"It'd upset her if she found out." Though, he wasn't really sure if that was true. His calm unemotional voice was back now. "She's delicate you see, and would break down with even the slight hint that none of her kids could have their own children." Another maybe lie. He wasn't sure. Though, he really didn't want to find out if it was true. Nande's happiness some how became his first priority of mind. She needed to be happy.

"Don't worry." Nia's voice was low and quite serious as she looked Thona in the eyes, "I don't think of it as a joke, I take your words quite seriously. If such a fight were to happen, I would use all my strength."
"What if she realizes it one day..." Nia paused and shrugged, "Maybe not. I for one would not like finding out that something so serious was hidden from me. But since she's so delicate I can understand your worry and secrecy, sire."
Nia's tail swished behind her, "But what does this have to do with any of the tasks I can do for you, sire? Do you wish for me to find someone to..." Here she trailed off and looked to the side nervously, "To make heirs that are fertile?"

"She won't find out." He spoke. He knew Nan well. Even if she did, it'd take her at least 10 minutes to forget about it. She was so absent minded it seemed as if she was hit on the head very hard as a cub. "She's got a bit of a memory problem." He told her with a shrug. He didn't think it mattered if he told her that. What was she going to do, tell everyone? If she did, that'd be her own doom.
"Well, You don't have to find someone when there's someone right in front of me." He wondered if she'd get what he was saying. He wasn't going to force her into it. Just kinda sweet talk her if he had to. He could even do the desperate thing pretty well. Never... though, never would he ever force a female into doing anything with him. For one... He didn't want to put too much effort in trying to get her from attacking him. Just seemed pointless.

"A bit?" But Nia just shook her head, "Don't worry. It's not like I'll let anyone know this anyway." Her eyes widened though at his next words. He was suggesting that! "Eh!? I..." Nia quickly thought of playing it off as if she didn't understand, but something stopped her.
Nia golden eyes looked back over the pride thoughtfully. In a way this situation made her think of Abrafo's random wanderings where he would disappear for the day or night. She wasn't thoughtless, she could smell another scent mixed with his own easily. A female's scent specifically. Not like they were mates or anything...but still. Her claws dug into the dirt, maybe she should stop waiting for him. It was silly really the more she thought of her hopes.
Still Nia couldn't help but to find herself torn, "Sire, surely you are jesting."

"I don't joke about this sort of thing." He said. Though, he did in some sense of it, but not know. He wanted to see how much she really wanted to be in this pride. This was merely a test, yet also a benefit to him if she agreed. "I don't seen much of a problem in it." he spoke with a hint of cruelness to it.
"Unless you and that lion have a thing going on" He eyed her for a moment. He figured they weren't but he ought to ask first. Though, that still wouldn't stop him from snagging a piece of her.

"No!" The word flew from Nia's mouth in a loud growl. But she quickly shook her head, "I mean, me and Abrafo? We have absolutely nothing going on 'cept we're close friends." A bit of that was true, but she didn't add in her hopes or secrets.
Her golden eyes gazed at Thona, "I just don't understand, sire. Why ask me for something like this? I've never had cubs before...how would I know much-" She paused sheepishly, "About....such things?" It was mostly true, Nia wasn't much of one to think overly on the subject of cubs and the actions leading to them.

He raised a brow. Something told him that it wasn't the case at all. So she liked him then? Especially the way she quickly said no. Either she really liked him, or she hated him. And Hate didn't seem like the case. "Right.." He said with a shake of his head.
"You really wouldn't have to know anything." He told her with a shrug. "We have Nannies for that. " He told her honestly. "You'd simply give birth to them, they'd take over, and you'd go about your job as if nothing ever happened. Unless you want to connect them with you? " He asked her with a shrug. He continued to see what she'd say. He was hoping she'd fall for his tricks.
