The black cub was laid out by the water. Her eyes were closed and her legs kept twitching every now and then as if she were dreaming, which she was. She saw things changing she dreamt of the pride as it use to be from the stories she had been told and as she woke up remembering the dream she smiled as she was sure what she had dreamt would be a reality. Would she ever know the difference between a dream and vision? Only time would tell but as she was so young her visions came rarely but when they did they came true so of course her dreams would too.
She continued to lay on her side with a silly smirk on her face. Her tail flicked occasionally and she let her thoughts wander. She wondered what Kimeti was like and this goddess that they had worshiped. She wondered about what it was like to have slaves. There was so much that she couldn't help but wonder about and as she was laying on the hot desert sands and it seemed no one was around it did little harm. If only she realised not all dreams come true.

He'd given up on finding someone to pick a fight with for the time being and decided he could use a drink. He'd memorized where the water was pretty well and let his paws head that direction. Maybe with some fresh water in him he could think of something else to do.
Hopping over a sand dune he spied the blue liquid and grinned. "Finally..." For the moment he took no notice of the female near him. He was more focused on getting a drink

Her thoughts were rudely interrupted. She was not impressed to see a male, older then her drinking. Could he not drink at some other time? Seriously some lions were just so rude!
She watched him drink her eyes never leaving him. She recognized him though she had never spoken to him. She wondered if he was a traditionalist too, maybe that was why she could recognize him? Or maybe she had just seen him about. She had been really young when the prides had merged again.
"Who are you?" Her voice was demanding which was probably somewhat silly thing to do. He was older then her, bigger then her and would probably find it easy to pin her down but then again she wasn't the cleverest of cubs most the time.

He snarled as his head whipped around to face the voice from a combination of surprise and anger at himself that he had let someone sneak up on him. ".... what's it to you who i am?"
Great, another girl. Maybe this one wouldn't be as stupid as the last one he'd crossed paths with. "And didn't your mom teach you not to sneak up on things bigger than you are?" Girls his age could put up good fights but somehow he figured he could take someone smaller than him no matter what.

She snarled at the word 'mother' as she didn't know her mother. She knew of her and her father had told her stories of her but it was her father who was bringing her up.
"No my mother left when we decided to return to the simo." The snarl was still there as she spoke. There wasn't much reason for the snarl other then he had hit a bad spot, she wasn't a fighter as she was much better thinking things through.
"So who are you?" She demanded again. "I need to know whether you are worth my time or not." It was a simple statement with no emotion behind it. Yes she was younger and maybe it was a stupid thing to say to a lion who was somewhat bigger then you but she didn't care. She wanted him to answer her question!

"Oh. Well then it's probably a good thing that she didn't teach you anything." He knew that his mother didn't always like the Simo and their ways but this was far better than abandoning everything completely. At least in staying they could still keep up the honor they'd had before instead of running away like cowards.
"I am Kichomo'Roho, Son of Kenna and Jiryan." He puffed up slightly knowing that his mother at least was well known. She was strong and the little girl better respect that.

"Queen Kenna's son?" She seemed to be running in to Kenna's children recently which wasn't a good idea especially as she had been so rude to him. She respected Kenna and so respected her children, in her eyes they were royalty.
'I am Bastet, daughter of Vuvimoto and Kamara." Little did she know that her mother was even better then Kenna, if she had known she would have probably been rude again. For now though she admired the male purely for his blood.
"Then at least you are of true blood." That was at least something. Bastet couldn't stand these rogue firekins. They were so soft and didn't have the fight in them that the true bloods did. At least that was her opinion!

He nodded proudly. He knew his mother had been special, and still was special, and generally despite anyone else's ideas he thought he was pretty damn special too. No one was as good as his mom.
"I am. Not like all the others coming in now." He knew they were suppose to respect the new ways but that didn't mean that he had to always like them. He wished they all could have just stayed pure and strong.

She nodded in agreement.
"They are all so weak and soft, even some who are being born here are like that. I have been told stories of this pride being harsh, cruel and strong but that must have been a long time ago." She let out a soft sigh wondering what life would have been like. It would have been amazing. She was sure of it, all rogues would be slaves and that would just be perfect!

"It wasn't that long ago." He just managed to keep himself from sneering at the idea of what had become of what his mother use to rule. HE had wanted to grow up in -that- pride. Not this new softer one.
"Mother said there was a reason though. Something about being related to everyone and the blood dying." He really didn't understand any of it. There had to have been plenty of strong blood somewhere instead of all these rogues.

"I was born just before we came back here so I wouldn't have known." She let out another sigh and then listened to what the male said.
"How? The pride had survived before, why would that make a difference now?" She didn't really understand either, she had been taught of the pride, of Finar-si and how she had kept them alive and she had also been told not to mention her name just in case.
"Maybe things will return to how they should be one day? Things might be right again if.. if... she comes back." She didn't want to mention the goddesses name, she knew that the pride worshiped her, or at least had done and if she returned Bastet was so certain that everything would go back to how it was.

"I don't know. No one's ever really explained it to me. They just said that we would have to learn to live this new way and keep it in our hearts." He refused to believe that this new way was the -true- way. He was sure that Finar-si would be angry with them for diluting their blood and letting such weaklings in. "And Uncle of mine came back. He has the proper blood ... he could have helped without the rest of us having to be like this."
He knew he wasn't really suppose to talk about it but he couldn't help it. At least this girl seemed to understand. "I hope she does return and punishes those who have gone against her ways"

Bastet found it hard not to talk about this, in fact she found it hard when talking to one of them not to start telling them how unworthy and disgusting they were. She would probably learn more self control as she got older but for now, she wasn't overly bothered, she was a cub and as long as didn't mention Finar-si's name then it seemed okay. At least she hadn't been caught yet.
"Maybe it's down to us. The adults have gone all soft." Bastet smiled as she spoke, her sister had said to her such things. They had to be careful but it was the best thing for them to do. The youngsters had to do it, after all the adults would all be dead one day.

"It is ... in a way." He nodded slightly. For a girl and a baby she at least knew -something-. Unlike the other stupid girls who he'd met. She at least respected that he was bigger and a male.
"But ... when all those soft, pointless, rogues start having children ...." He just managed not to snarl. Mother had told him that they need to play nice. That they weren't suppose to go against the new way. But he knew the moment the unpure blood started to have children and teach them that the old ways would slowly be pushed aside just by sheer numbers

"Then we corrupt their kids." She said it casually as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. It wasn't like she had spent days wondering about this problem. She wanted things to change and so had spent too much time thinking about it. She was obsessed.
"Then when are big we breed with each other, if we get their young on our side - granted they are tainted but it will do we can always dispose of them later." She was a cruel thing really. It didn't show very often but she was more then willing to use and abuse others, even if in the end it meant killing them. For a cub she was seriously twisted though came across as reasonable. It was a dangerous mix.
