I don't want any long response to this unless I reply. Rofl. Do women HAVE to wear the hijab? Or do I not have to? If women are given rights, then I assume it's optional, but I'm not sure. Please inform mehz. Thank yews. 3nodding

As far as I am concern, you HAVE to wear hijab to close the aurat. But that doesn't mean you have to close your face. Take a look at this. 3nodding

Ah, I see. What about this one? She's wearing a hijab/scarf, simply to say she cover her face head, but she wears t-shirt. And I think this (The link below) is one of the company that design muslim clothing. And it's from Malaysia I believe. ( My country. 4laugh ) Busana Muslimah.Because even the website is in Malay. ( It's my language. sweatdrop )

Oh oh. Hmmm... I will only answer this from my experience.
Well I am a male, but to me wearing hijab is a must.
But if you cannot comply, it is okay I believe. Some said you don't have to do all things at once. Learn how to do it slowly. Don't force yourself to do what you don't want.
But if you remember Allah, and acknowledge what he wants you to do, then go ahead. One must try their best to be as close to Allah.
I've seen a lot of religious people in my country who doesn't wear hijab. They pray, they remember Allah, but they don't wear hijab in public. Sometimes I think, is it okay? Or not?
If you can be as close to Allah, then it is good for you.
Sorry, I'm not a good talker, and I'm not very religious, nor very knowledgeable. v.v
I hope it sounds fair and satisfy what you want to know. sweatdrop

The_Pathan that is wrong. ur hands should also be covered. Now that is a matter of personal oppinion and interpretation. Not everyone obseves that particular practice. This particular hadith claims otherwise: Quote: Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: "Asma bint Abu Bakr, entered upon the Apostle of Allah while she was wearing thin clothes. The Apostle of Allah turned his attention from her. He said: O Asma', when a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it does not suit her that she displays her parts of body except this and this, and he pointed to her face and hands." Sunnan Abu Dawud 32:4092

I would say you don't have to.
How close you are with God is all between you and Him not a piece of clothing.
In my view God sees me naked anyway and inside my heart and mind. It's good to be modest and make sure I'm coverd up with a nice shirt or dress but it's not going to stop a man from ever looking at me in a strange way they will look no matter what that's just human nature and I'm not going to take the blame just because I was born different.
Wear it if you want to, if you are wearing it not wanting to wear it..well God's going to know that anyway and He wants us to do things willingly for Him

Wearing a hijab can help with preventing moments of "innocent attraction" (those times when you think x person is cute today but isn't by any means a regular feeling [a feeling that is actively pursue/develop]). Such attraction in my experiecnes causes little to no trouble or arkwardness unless the person is very insecure with the opposite sex or hyper sexual (both types of people kinds most people don't like to associate with).
Beyond that I would say immodest behavior is bad and avoiding friendships with the opposite sex is bad. I grew maily around girls that were much more wild then me before puberty. So by the time puberty hit me I was like so what when girls acted immodest towards me. Then being an art student on top of that (a career that like a doctor you have to be comfortable with the human body) the degree of modesty or even nudity isn't really an issue for me. I realize I am not the norm. That said I personally can't see how anyone can feel attraction towards anyone that they don't have a deep friendship with that consideration for marriage has come up at the very least. Plus I am too read up on the biology of how such things work so I can't really get in romantic fog anymore.
