Actually , Yes it is, cause Music is Haram in Islam, ... and the reason is that Music Kills the heart, but I have to admit aswell, I find it really hard to obey this, since I see / hear music everywhere I go.

Koran;

1. Allah (swt) says in Surah Loeqman: " There will be people who will be talking the lowest talk trying to pull the people away from Allah (swt) for them there will wait a high punishment!(6), and when the verses of the Koran will be spoken up, they will pretend they dont hear it. Its as if they a deaf.(7)

Al wahiedie and other Islamic scientist said in there tafsier ( explanations of the Koran ) they say that the aya 6 refers to Music.
This is what the followers of the Profit (saws) who were near him said;
Ibn ‘Abbas en ibn Mas'oed en Moedjahied en 3iekriemah. it has been said that ibn Mas'ood said; " I swear in the name of Allah who is the Only God, that Music, is the lowest unnecessary talk.

From Hadith;

2. Hadith: The Profit (saws) said; " there shall be Muslim people who drink etc. who shall say, Music instruments are allowed "

Nasheeds are allowed because they dont use instruments, and they sing about Allah (swt) so they dont use low talk

Also I would like to add, that Music in this age is even worse in my Opinion
because what do they talk about?
Ho this, B.tch that, Money Money... etc.

this will lower ur Imaam.

Exactly, Doesnt matter if it is the Age before, or therefor. or the Age after or after that Age. Music will always be as Imaam an-Nawawi said; " What is mentioned here as sang and music instruments is the sound of the Devil "

Nasheeds are allowed thou, I recommend you to listen to them they are very beautiful , I try to listen less to music, still I find it very hard.

May Allah (swt) help us through this road, and clear the path for us.
