Chaka'Jua As the sun sets and the moon rises in the sky so too does the pride. Though they are all one they are broken up into three parts, all working in harmoney for the better good. Though the river that cuts through their lives keeps them seperated the Chaka, Mwezi and the Umepatwa are all one unit. Between the parted sides of the Chaka and the Mwezi, living on an island in the center of the river are the Umepatwa. They are the rulers, made up of a council which helps govern the two sides and keep everyone in check. They are a strong pride and generally distrusting of outsiders. They do not think harshly or hate members of their apposing sides. Sometimes familys will be split depending on color to be raised accordingly under either the sun or the moon. Everyone has their place.
Mwezi The Mwezi rise and set with the moon in the sky, purely nocturnal they have coats to match the night sky. Various dark hues with very few bright colors with the exception of silvers, the very embodyment of their lunar mother. They follow the moons cycle, taking special note of the full moon and following the sky spirt through her waxing and waning process. The time of the new moon is very sacrid and often times much prayer is done during this time to help insure that their moon will return to the sky in the following nights.
Chaka The Chaka live their lives in the way of the sun, they rise with it and set with it and all of them have brightly colored pelts. They live in the way of the sun and respect and worship the light of the day. The rise with the sun and go down with it as well. Sleeping during the night when the sun is no longer in the sky. Anyone born with a sun like marking is said to be blessed by the sun itself.
Umepatwa The Umepatwa are the counsil of chosen lions that are the embodyment of both sides, the sun and the moon. Every few years a lion from the Chaka and a Lion and from the Mwezi are chosen by the Preists/ess of the pride and brought together to mate. Reguardless if they already have a family, this is a calling of the sky spirits and beyond any mortal love. The children of this pairing will then be brought up to rule the two sides and live in the island. When the children are grown enough to taken the position of council leaders after they have past their purity tests the old council leaders are then sacrificed to bring joy to the lands and return their spirits to the sky.
