I just don't get it......Why do people like Matt?!I mean Come ON!He appears like 30 seconds in all the episodes, plus he gets shot!I mean who would like a character that in the show they don't even say he's name?!Plus he smokes!I mean really - L,Near, Light....HOW COULD YOU PUT MATT IN THAT CATEGORY?!
(I have nothing against Death Note-it's my fav anime-I just ask why do people like Matt)

Uh yea I guess I see your point? But really? I like him? Its probibly only because hes one of L's heirs and you just have to like him? Dont get so worked up about it. ^_^

It doesn't take much for people to like a person.
As for example, in the start of the Death Note manga, L was shown a few times, his face was not shown either, yet even before people started to get to know L they liked him.
It doesn't matter if Matt is a minor character, people have their reasons. Besides, he had a slightly bigger part in the manga. Please don't get so worked up about this matter.

I agree it's probablly just to do with how he looks. His fanbase is large though... maybe they'll do a Matt-based-spin-off, of before he was killed.

Plus, he appears in the Manga a lot more...as much as u may like him and he makes a great pairing with Mello mrgreen
The charcter is so...interesting.And he's a typical freak (playing Computer the wohle time,genius...that's hot xD)

Probably because he has red hair. x 3x Or because his goggles are teh smexx<3 his hair is brown in the anime, blue in the game. I don't know why cosplayers use red hair though. Some of the newer cosplayers do it cause they know everyone else will recognise them.
