I'm not much of one for wig styling but I found an online wig shop that sells high quality wigs for an affordable price and since there's a wide variety they don't need much styling and look great!

If I were you, I'd hand-wash it with a drop of vegetable oil (Who KNOWS what could happen if you put it in a washing machine!!), and then go about trying to untangle it gently... Maybe with a comb? (I've never worked with wigs, but hand-washing shouldn't hurt a synthetic wig, and I know a good deal about unknotting hair sweatdrop ) Work from the ends to the roots- otherwise things go bad razz

Uhhh...
Personally, I have no wigs, as of yet.
But I am planning on buying a wig for my Grimmjow cosplay, most likely this one --> http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=16468&cat=0&page=1 <-- in light blue.
If anyone else has a better suggestion, of if you think I would be better off buying and styling/cutting my OWN wig, that'd be great. biggrin
Thanks~

CosWorx usually has a good selection, but the thing to watch out for is if they have the wig in that color in stock. Sometimes they will have certain colors of a style but not others, this is especially true during the prime con season (typically summer-fall).

If you cant get your wig from cosworx, ebay is good for finding adequate wigs, but sometimes the wigs you buy end up being less than desired quality. Its hard to tell which shops on ebay sell the better quality wigs, so its a game of chance, but personally the only time I bought a wig from ebay I cant complain as I've had the same wig for 2 years now and its survived 5 conventions with only losing a few strands of hair during restyling.

Here's a good tutorial for wig washing, haven't put it into practice but it says to definitely NOT use oil for synthetic wigs which is most likely what you have:

Also, here's a few other good tutorials from dA:

Synthetic wigs RARELY need to be full on washed. Since they don't get oily like your hair does and as you should be wearing a wig cap between it and your head, the only dirt you really need to worry about is dust, and a quick swish in some cool water will take care of that. And properly storing your wigs in plastic bag (I would highly recommend also putting the wig in a hair net) or on a wig head with a covering of some kind over it should remove even the need to remove dust.

When it comes to getting tangles out, I've found that regular old conditioner works well and makes your wig smell pretty pleasant. Just put some on top (about the same amount you would use on yourself) and run some cool water over it. (If your straightening your wig this can be done in with the hot water you would be using for that.) Keep running water over it until your sure its all out, then detangle using a wide tooth comb. Let it air dry and then brush again using a wig brush.

I don't really have any recommendations on styling, but I have a suggestion on where to -buy- them! 83

Ebay seems to be the best place with the most reasonable prices. There are some ebay "stores" on there that don't charge shipping, and their wigs are high quality.

Personally, I suggest finding a wig that looks close to what you're looking for, order it, and then make a few adjustments to the wig so that it's exactly how you want it. 3nodding

I'm trying to put together a cosplay for Simca f rom air gear and I know about cosworx but I was wondering if there were any other wig companies I could go to because ebay scares me a tad dont want to buy the wig and its a pos you know and it has to be long or else it wouldnt work...

Cosworx has a long pink wig but its 52 and I'm not willing to spend THAT much on a wig >_> I'm kind of on a budget

This is a pic of a cosplayer wearing the kinda of wig I am looking for.

Are there any quality not too expensive wig shops on ebay?

Well like you, I'm rather wary of EBay, so here's a wig that should work off of Milanoo.com . They're a really inexpensive site and I've never had problems with them.

I can also give you a redemption code that will knock off $10 from the price, so that will be even more helpful in saving money :3

Does anyone have an idea for a Grimmjow wig I can use...?
I'm thinking about using this one --> http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=16468&cat=0&page=1<--, but one of my friends says that it's not that good. =
Anyone else have an idea...?

What is the quality like with Milanoo wigs? Are they comparable to the wigs sold by cosworx or are they more halloween quality? Because their prices seem really good, but I'm really picky about the quality of my wigs.

After halloween, i'll have nothing to do with a light-blonde, medium length wig with bangs. Any ideas on what i could do with it?

((BTW: I probably won't be able to tie it up in ponytails or anything, but i will be able to cut/style it. Would need some tips tho. Thanks!))
