Frankly, the only way to "solve" the problem is to build a time-transporter and go back into time, to either 1. Prevent guns from being made. Or 2. When we were "handing out" guns, make sure that none of the idiots had them.

Since neither are possible, I suggest those people shove a plug in it and let the people who are experienced in firearms, handle the problem.

Yeah, it's hard to put the mushroom cloud back inside the shiny metal case. A time machine is pretty much the only way to do it. Otherwise... we have them, we can make them, and there's not a damn thing anyone can do to stop it.

Actually, the thread somehow managed to turn into a legitimate debate. Problem is, there's one guy (Redem, if you actually read through) that's dead-set on guns being banned. He keeps throwing the same argument down over and over without citing references, while I continued to shoot him down with facts and links. I finally got frustrated and left. It was becoming a waste of time, effort and keystrokes.

Well, undoubtedly the person didn't know and is full of fail, but in their complete stupidity they accidently described a Japanese LMG.

They're somewhat right. It's a rigid belt that could be confused for a 'clip' moreover a 'stripper clip'.
