Amaya had slept for a long time after her arrival. awaking, finally, with a yawn and a large stretch, she looked around, only to find the den empty again. She was really eager to meet the other females, but somewhat relieved that she might first have time to groom herself. She had fallen asleep to the comforting feel of the Sultan Aali bathing her, but she still had the impulse to groom herself. So, stepping out into the light of the den entrance, she basked in its warmth for a moment, heating her pale body, before getting to work, first on her face, and working her way to her tail.

((Hope you don't mind if i Jump in! :3))
Ukoo was busy at work yet again this fine morning. She had things to do, because O'tep wouldn't do them and the other girls were still pretty new to this sort of thing. Ukoo had been a 'slave' her whole life and did not need telling to do something. Ukoo just, knew. The seer powers didn't help much, but she had intuition to help her. She knew that the grass that she placed on her Vizers sleeping place was losing it's sweet smell and was getting dirty, so she was busing herself with collecting some more.
She was small, the size of an adolescent, but the scar on her neck and her body frame told she was a grown lioness. She hunkered down over the grass and began to clip it close to the root with her teeth, laying it out in the sun to dry for the day. She should really have done this sooner, but O'tep had needed much comforting these days.
Ukoo lifted her red eyes to the pale lioness ahead of her, who was grooming. Ukoo didn't recognize her, she must be a newcomer to the pride. With a small shy smile, she lifted her head. "Good morning!" She said softly.

Amaya's ears perked. She looked up to see just who had greeted her, and saw the small lioness. "Good morning," she replied, offering a smile of her own, soft and gentle.

Ukoo lifted her head and flicked her ears as the stranger spoke. Ukoo could not help but admire her beautiful coat, so lovely as it was. Ukoo's was just ugly and marsh colored. She abandoned her drying grass and padded over to the lioness. She hadn't really spoken to anyone outside of her masters den. So this was new to her and she liked it.
The seer stepped close and seated herself. "How are you? I do not believe I've met you... I am Ukoo. My Pad is Vizer Tariq!" She said, her voice soft and quiet. It was different, Ukoo's way of speaking. And her red eyes, had a kind of sheen to them that was surprising to some. Sometimes, her eyes seemed to shine a certain way or appear dull. It all depended on how her seer powers were working and if Ukoo could sense it or not.

Amaya watched the smaller female approach, shyly assessing her coat aswell. It was an interesting pattern, for sure, and a color unlike any she had seen on another. Trying not to be rude, though, Amaya did not stare for long.
Amaya tried to remember some of the terminology that Aali had mentioned when coming back to the pride before replying to the seemingly kind lioness known as Ukoo.
"My name is Amaya. I was brought here yesterday by the Sultan, Aali." Her voice was full of gratitude for the Sultan. "I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with much of the pride's terminology yet,...'Vizir'?"

Ukoo marveled for a moment. The sultan. What an honor. She brightened up a bit at hearing that Amaya was his Banu. She chuckled a bit, sitting up straighter. It was probably a good thing this lovely lioness hadn't met her Master yet. She knew he wasn't something everyone marveled over. "He helps with the sultans decisions and the like. He has skills that are influential to the pride as well... special skills sometimes."
She really didn't know what else to say about him. He was well known for being cruel at times, but Ukoo would not speak badly against him. That was not her way. "So you are just newly brought. Well, welcome. Did he say you were his Banu?

"I assume such. He didn't use the word, but he did say that I would be one of his females." Amaya replied, thinking back on the previous evening.
"If you don't mind me asking, how did you come to live here? Were you born here, or...?"

Ukoo guessed she was his banu then. She was pretty sure a new comer wouldn't get Beya'banu so quickly. Course, her Vizer had not chosen one yet-so she couldn't really say. She nodded her head as a gesture that she was listening.
Then the question came up and she made a sort of sad face. "I was a slave in another pride. My neck, the scar you can't really see... is because I was bled when my King required it... I was their slave and then Tariq captured me and brought me here. My cubs, I have three... are back with the other pride... I miss them" She said. Her voice was a bit strange for a moment, almost confused and like she was babbling... her eyes took on a different sheen in a way.

Amaya nodded, and went quiet for a while.
"Before I came here I traveled with...a male," she had to try and remember not to refer to him as 'master'. and other lionesses. "He'd steal female cubs from rogue mothers or sometimes small prides that were not equipped to defend their children. One night he was attacked. The other lionesses and I ran in fear. That's when I wondered here, and the Sultan found me."

Ukoo could relate. "Well then I suppose it is a good thing then. And the sultan is a good master... you have nothing to fear! He is just and true.. I am sure of it!" She said with an assuring smile. "And I know some new females aren't really used to the new ways... but it only takes time. It's not hard. I've been doing it all my life so its nothing new to me but.. the rules are pretty simple."
She hadn't had trouble with them at all.
"What happened to the other lioness? Do you know? Were you two friends?" She asked, her red eyes taking on the more familiar look than the sad gleam that they had a moment ago

"I haven't the slightest what became of them. They were all far more skilled than I, and treated worse. I'm sure, wherever they are, they're alright." Amaya smiled softly.
At the last they knew how to hunt! All Amaya knew was how to sit there and look pretty. It really sucked to be seen as eye candy and nothing more. She was sure, though that she'd find some other purpose in the pride.
"Umm so,...lioness to lioness, how do things really work around here? Like, what's expected of us?"

Ukoo chuckled. "Well... I suppose... everything asked of you. I try to predict what my master wants, though some don't like that... so I suppose just guess... if you know he likes a certain thing, get it for him as a gift every once and a while..." She said softly. "Though, sometimes it is hard to tell if he likes such things." She paused. She found that trying to please Tariq was hard, because he didn't really appreciate what she did for the cave.
"You sure are pretty..." She said shyly. She had always grown up being the ulgy colored one so she found this lioness with her beautiful marked paws and lovely color rather stunning. It was no doubt why the sultan would want such a prize. If only. "... I am sure you can get away with just being sweet to him and appreciative of his care."

"Thank you...though I hope,..wish,..to be seen for more than that. It's the whole reason I have no skills. Why I was never anything more than something to look at..." She sighed heavily.
AMaya had hoped, since she had no skills to her name, she'd hoped to learn some tasks she might be able to do, so she didn't seem so....useless and burden-some.
