I like some foreign bands but the ones that I really like still speak English.

Vanilla Sky [Italian pop/alt-rock]
Goodnight Nurse [They're from New Zealand. They're the only emo band I really like, even though Wikipedia calls them pop/punk]

I don't know anything else from the artist but this is one of my favorite Japanese songs ever.
I thought I should throw something in there that's not in English. xD

How does one define 'foreign music'? Is it just music that comes from a country other than your own? Or is it music in a different language to your own?

I guess pretty much all the music I listen to is 'foreign' because I'm from New Zealand and we have don't have very good musicians here. rolleyes Well, I'll admit, there are a couple of okay-ish ones but nothing to tell you about at least.

Mostly everyone here listens to bands and musicians from America or the UK and I'm no exception. I also listen to a lot of French music. But then again, is French music foreign to me just because I don't live in France but am French.... I don't know. I'm confused.

Wow! Well said Kiwi! Actually for me it would maybe be something with another language other than my own that I call 'foreign'. I never realized it but maybe foreign when I'm relating the songs to someone else and it's not a language or accent (thinking of Caribbean) that they're accustomed to.

Foreign music I love. ^_^

I was thinking of that too, Kiwi.
I figured from a different country because I posted two that are still in english but are from Italy and New Zealand.

I more or less just go with whatever i like. if the music's good it doesn't matter if i can't understand what they're saying. Though i dont' seek out bands just because they're foreign like soe peope seem to either.
Usually the bands i listen to sing in english with occasional foreign-language songs within the album (a la nightwish).
I have a few rammstein songs i really like. and as a band that consistently sings in foreign language, I like Trax (thanks moonlight!)

and Nickelback! blaugh

incidentally, why does everyone seem to hate nickelback. They seem to have become a scapegoat for all the 'hardcore rock fanz' to beat upon in order to make themselves feel better and more legit. pfft.

i love nickleback...though i must say much of their music sounds similar which turns me off most bands after a while but I still love them
