When you want to find new music to listen to. Where do you go to discover new genres or music? Do you check out your local FYI or some other music store? Do you check for things online? Either by itunes or even online radios like pandora or Live365? Or do you check it out through friends or the radio station?
How do you find interesting new songs?
For me it's mainly online. I'm lazy to go to a store and just listen to them by choosing out CD's off a rack. So I prefer browsing previews online or through my sister/friends. On the other hand I also just recently have been really using Pandora Online Radio more often. It's how I found out Skillet just released a new CD as well as some other favorite bands of mine.

i usually eitehr bum cds of my friends or listen to the radio. I always listen to 'kerrang!' radio, which has all the good rock music smile
Other than that it's whatever's on the tv that i actually like (most of the pop and rnb stuff is crap) or what songs are playing in the local clubs i like

I find new songs through amazon and youtube because they have a recommended for you section in both and it is based on previous listens or purchases or favorites.

I'm sad that they got rid of yahoo radio. that used to be an online station that was sculpted around what you liked - you'd rate each song. they got rid of it because of piracy laws even though you couldn't download anything sad it was great for introducing you to new music

I get a lot from my friend Sam. She has similar music taste to mine, except she likes stuff a bit "harder". (She doesn't like hardcore music but I like softer music than her) So if she likes something a lot she'll usually send it over to me.
Other than her, since she's the person I know with the closest music taste to me, I get my music from TV every once in a while, and Pandora. And sometimes I'll harass my friend Danny for music since he's into weird off-beat electronic stuff that I like sometimes. Come to think of I may go harass him right now to send me some of his 8-bit stuff.

This may sounds weird but . . . I get a lot of songs from AMVs and YouTube videos in general. sweatdrop Then I look them up on playlist.com and listen to them when I want. whee

Who was it here who introduced Skillet? Was it Zizzy or monkeyfen?
@everyone Yeah I love sites or places that have those "Recommended for you" areas. Really useful.
@Zizzy You're friend sounds like me and my sister. She's into rock too but her's can be a bit harder than my taste.
@DT I'm not an RnB fan either. ^__^

Skillet? I didn't introduce them. I'd never even heard of them. Now I'm checking them out on youtube and they're pretty neat though. It's something a bit "rougher" than I normally listen to but I like the use of the string instruments. At least in the song, Rebirthing
