In the time before time, the world was full of magic. Not the magic of nature, but the magic of the soul, and all things had it in them. This was a time before humans and their petty squabbles, indeed, it was a time of Elves, Drawves, Halflings, Hobbits, Pixies, Goblins, Orcs, Nymphs, And all other manners of creatures. Each of the surface races in this time had a mirror in the world below. For the Elves, there were the Dark Elves, for the Halflings there were Dark Halflings, for the Pixies there was even Dark Pixies. These two worlds kept each other in balance, and so they coexisted peacefully. Or at least, that was what was supposed to happen. Just because there were no humans does not mean that there was no human evils. There was still hatred, arvice, greed, and every other evil imaginable. These evils caused corruption, and ironically, it was the Surface, or "Light" races that caved in to it first. They began a war, one which still rages, between the world of light and that of the subterranean races. It was a bitter, bloodletting thing, but something new did come from it. Even if it was a produce mostly of rape by the victorious armies, new races did open their first pairs of eyes into the world as hybrids, mostly thought of as freaks and outcasts, and many killed because of it. One of the many new hybrids was Arkhel, a "Winged Elf", the product of a cross between a fairy of the underworld and an Elf of the light. He was cast out universally, and sent to wander the worlds of Light and Darkness alone, or at least so he thought... [Introduce your character now, and how they meet]

In his wanderings, Arkhel had seen many strange things, but none struck him so curiously as the creature that stood before his as he walked into a rather large cavern, one he hadn't anticipated to be occupied. He didn't even know if the thing before him knew he was there. Arkhel could only see it because of his Dark Fairy heritage granted him perfect night vision so that he could see in these lightless caves. Not knowing whether or not this new creature was hostile, he did a quick double-check of his person. he was about six feet tall, his Elven heritage winning out over the Dark Fairy that time, and his hair too was a light golden blond, as was standard of the Elves. The one thing that gave away his Dark Fairy heritage was a pair of rather large winds protruding from behind his shoulder blades. The wings were an interesting blend of racial attributes that resulted in a dark blue wing like deeply stained glass that could only be described as something of a mix between dragonfly and bat wings in shape. He scanned quickly over his leather armor, which had saved his life many a time, and did a quick twice-over of his bow. The bow was a work of art, with the tips flourishing out in a shape that roughly resembled that of his wings, and appeared to be made of ebony decorated with gold leaf. It also had a matching quiver. He snuck quietly to the right of the entrance, hugging the wall of the cave, before scurrying agilely up the rock to a better vantage point, from which he could easily examine the newly encountered creature.

As Koi had walked around him, Arkhel quickly scanned her body, and saw no weapons whatsoever. Also, he got a good look at her hands, which weren't calloused enough for her to be a fighter. At this realization, he dropped his guard for the first time since he had left his little camp earlier in the morning. Arkhel allowed himself a sly grin as Koi examined him. Her antics were quite amusing. He fluttered his wings a bit, giving her a better view. He actually had two pairs of wings, arranged like those of a dragonfly, and they had an insect-like net venation running though them. Each wing was about three feet in length. The top of the wings was smooth, and the even edge rand down to the tip, and then from there to the bottom point, where the wing appeared to suddenly become jagged and had a pattern like the arches of a bat wing to it. The arches ran at intervals all the way back to his body. There were no nicks whatsoever in his wings, not even the scar of a cut, and it was obvious that he had taken very good care of them since he was a child.
