People who hate Fall Out Boy just because of Sugar We're Going Down,
or
People who think they know Fall Out Boy when all they know is Sugar We're Going Down.
In my opinon I think that the people who think they know FOB because of SWGD, because then the other people wouldn't be annoyed by those people signing it after MTV/FUSE ruiend it!

I think people that hate them, probably.
I mean...at least the ones who love them and think they know them at least like the song, and HOPEFULLY will go learn more...but the people that hate them for one song and don't even give them a chance...? I think that bugs me more. sad
Neither of them are good, though.

But yeah, it makes me sad how a really great band can be so horrible in peoples eyes.

Yeah...I especially hate it when people hate a band just for being mainstream, or the radio overplays a song. rolleyes It's not the band's fault... I hate people who judge a band on one song. Even my favorite bands make some songs I'm not that fond of. (Doesn't mean I hate them, but I'm just not in love with all of them.) Nobody is perfect. And even though you may dislike the music, it doesn't mean you have to dislike the PEOPLE, too. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are some artists that I don't really listen to, but I like the people from what I've seen of them on TV or read in magazines or whatever...*shrug*
I really hate it when people come into the thread or something and say "I love Fall Out Boy, but I hate Sugar We're Going Down..." I mean...if you truly think that, that's fine...but geez. I'd say 99% of the time, they're just saying that because they're sick of it or trying to show "I like them, but not for that song" so as to not seem like a n00b. gonk Personally, it's very high up on my list of favorite songs by them. It might end up slipping into my top 5... ><; I honestly think it's one of their best songs.
But I also see where one could hate teenies more, especially if you're feeling particularly selfish and protective of them, and you want to be the only one that knows about them again. But overall, that's a selfish feeling, and we DO want them to do well...it's just that we don't like that it means they're not exclusively ours anymore.

x) Yeah...selfish feelings.
But I used to not like SWGD because Mariel would sing it constantly, but I love it again!
And yeah, no one is perfect, but not alot of people have figured that out and one day, I hope it'll go through everyone's head.

The second one. I think people can hate whatever they want, because some kids just don't like it. However, thinking you know all about a band when in truth, you know one song(2 tops), is just plain annoying to me.

I still think it's hate for me. I can't STAND it when people hate my music. It's nice when they don't KNOW about it, so there aren't teenies, but I can deal with them. But if they're dissing my music, they're dissing my taste...and that basically means they're dissing me. mad My logic is demented sometimes. xp
There's a couple guys in my English class...we had to do a review, and it's a group project...they picked to review emo music, and they hate it...NOT THAT THEY KNOW WHAT REAL EMO IS... scream ...anyway...one of them picked Fall Out Boy...so he's going to be dissing them, and I will not be able to STAND watching their presentation. First off, I'm going to want to b***h them out for not knowing what the hell emo is, and second of all dissing one of my favorite bands. gonk
I hate when people go out of their way to hate something. If it doesn't really appeal to me, I don't listen to it, so I don't really know anything about it...so therefore I can't hate it because I don't know enough to hate it. But when people hate, they're usually ignorant bastards who don't know what the ******** they're talking about. Chances are they don't LIKE it, but that doesn't mean it's not GOOD. So if they go dissing it and go out of their way to proclaim how much they suck...it just pisses me off.
As I said...if they're just a teenie, at least they like the band and help support them (no matter how badly) and they just make themselves look stupid when they don't know what they're talking about. It's kind of funny sometimes if they're an extreme teenie. Sure it gets annoying, but they can be converted into a real fan. All of us start out teenies, technically. We hear one or two songs, fall in love with them, and desperately want to hear more...but before we hear those few more songs, we're a teenie. Granted, most of us don't go proclaiming our love for the band, maybe just the songs...and we go out of our way to find more information, learn about them, ask questions, etc...but... gonk Oi. Teenies don't usually do that. But they can be taught.
Ignorant haters should just be shot.

Meybe I'm weird, but I don't really hate either one. Sure both groups are a little bit annoying. The way I see it, the people who like Fall Out Boy for "Sugar, We're Going Down" has good taste, because honestly, when I bought the CD, that was the first song I liked. (Although, now, I love them all equally) And if they like that song, then most of the time, they go out and get the CD someway or another(most, in ways I disapprove of, but woe is me who loves buying CDs.) And thus end of liking more songs, and becoming a "new fall out boy fan:, whom most old fall out boy fans hate just because they were not blessed in hearing the band in their early stages.
Now, as for the people that hate the band because of their single, I actually kinda like these people. Because when they say they hate it, it just makes me love them more. It makes me feel like a "better" fan for being able to stand up for them, and I guess "fight" for them. (verbally, of course, although a physical fight would be rather enjoyable, I think.) And most of the time, these people just want to hate what's popular, so over time I think they could be converted, especially if you have one as a friend, and you play their older CDs right in their face.

You've got a good point there, Peter Panda.
I don't hate teenies THAT much, and as for people who just hate them because of "Sugar"...they don't bother me that much.
It mostly just bugs me when people say they're a BAD band. Other than that, I really don't care what their opinion is.

Well, I think the people who don't like FOB just because of SWGD are missing out on a really really god band. And also I think that the people who think they know all about Fall out boy just from SWGD are kinda dumb.
