It took me about 10 targets but I finally got my PSL to drop into a tight group at 100 yards. As far as tight goes for an oversized AK in a beafy cartridge.
Shitty lighting is shitty, so I'll post a picture later.
I couldn't see the target worth s**t, that light red and neon blue is my bane, it's all blurry to me. So I tried the M44 at the 50 yard line. Did ok, a hell of a lot better than the M91/30 with the same ammo, Albanian surplus. At 100 yards with the Albanian it just patterened.
Went back to the 100 yard to shoot off the PSL again. Didn't though, it was pretty full and I couldn't get a spot somewhere where my brass wouldn't fly into someone's face. Which is a part of lol for this.
The farthest eject was down almost 4 lanes.
Anyway, I shot something much cooler.
I noticed someone shooting an M1 Garand, walked over and watched. They went to continue firing, *click*, dud? pause, cycle, *click*, wtf? Then one guy says, 'broken firing pin?' cycle, *click*, and checked the primer, no dent.
That would have made me FFFFFFUUUUUUU into infinity.
Glanced over and saw what I thought was a M1 Carbine with a refinished stock. Didn't see how long it was or the end of the barrel.
Then the guy that was trying to fire the M1 asked if I wanted to try the M1A.
Me being retarded at the moment thought he said an M1 Carbine. I replied, "Well sure if you don't mind, I have one I haven't been able to shoot because I--," and I continued in a mumble, " don't have any ammo for it."
What made me mumble the rest is that it occured to me that he said M1A, not M1 Carbine or M1A1.
Anyway, real fun. Got to shoot some .308 down range out of an awesome gun.
Pretty cool milsurps too. Saw an Enfield 1917, a '36 Mauser, '42 Enfield, '26 Mosin and an odd Mosin M44 with a thumb release cleaning rod modification, also had a different front sight base.
