Anwar wasn’t particularly familiar with most of his siblings, not on a personal level anyway. He knew which ones he was related to, and envied to some degree those who, like Pari, had inherited more of their father’s rich black coat. He knew who he shared a mother with, and he didn’t think it mattered who was who’s full sibling. They all had the same father, and that was all that mattered. The only one of his siblings he’d really spent time with was Obadias. Because he was special…he had real dreams, and…well, Anwar was a little jealous of him. But he was also a little tiny bit worried. His little brother didn’t like those dreams… Anwar would love to trade.

And what could possibly be wrong with it? After all, his brother didn’t want to know the things his dreams showed him…and Anwar did. He really really wanted to know. Anything. Everything. He probably should have been spending time closer to home, getting to know his family and playing with his brothers and sisters, rather than just watching them with a detached sort of curiosity. Ever since his half sister had surprised him with her reaction to what he thought was a neutral response, he’d realized that even close to home there were things he did not know.

But, today, as most days, he was off on his own, a good ways away from his den. He’d not yet been in trouble for wandering, though he was usually quite sneaky about it and never actually mentioned that he’d left. There were so very many cubs about the den, it wasn’t all that difficult to lose track of the quiet one. He wasn’t very noticeable, but that was intentional. It made learning all kinds of secretive things that much easier…

For now though, he’d not happened across anything that particularly perked his interest. He currently lay in the pleasantly cool shade beneath the rock he’d first seen Zarha on, idly tracing a tiny circle into the sand. That game had been interesting. He couldn’t help but wonder if she’d told anyone else… he sort of liked to think it was still secret. That no one else knew. Anwar loved having secrets…

…and could always use a few more.
