Asalam Alaykum.
I think it can be a pretty hard life sometimes. We are made to go to school, then go home, eat sleep, go to school, then later on. Work, sleep, work, sleep...
Here in Denmark, it's very hard to pray and stay in the society. If you pray all the 5 salah, firsly u will have to leave your job/class for some time, becuz u gotta pray. Secondary, there is no mosques to pray in. U can't just lay a carpet at the desert, or go to the mosque and pray. And if u do it a official place, people will think u are crazy.
In the old says in the arabic sands, life was much more easy when combinating islam and society. But right now, it's pretty much imposible.
Let's take an example. A usual man wakes up, go work. Come home being tired, then eat. And do all those usual things, but then the whole day is gone, and u got no powers to pray 5 times a day, or wutever.
Even though, Allah send us to earth to pray. What do u guys think is a good idea? Family and Society, or praying.

eh, its easy, you do offer all your prayers in the end of the day, if you miss them, though it won't be as good as praying on time, but that's what you gotta do, time society does not do anything, you do it.

I have offered, Fajr, zohr, asar, magrib and isha, in 30 minutes, not counting wuddu, wuddu just takes 3-5 minutes, its not big deal, but if you offer prayer with jamaa then it takes around 2 hours because you also do dikr, offer sunnha, nawafil and long looong dua... you are just trying to give an excuse.

The balance between Duniya and Akhirat By: Med Hatta http://sayyidulayyaam.blogspot.com/2006/11/keseimbangan-antara-dunia-dan-akhirat.html
Economic problems of Muslims on average at present are poor, although there are many Islamic countries given the natural resources of oil and gas in profuse abundance, especially in the Middle East, there is no single Islamic state any decent country classified in category forward. There are only five Muslim countries, with a population of no more than 6 million people currently classified as high-income countries but still far from developed country category. While more than 20 Islamic countries with a population exceeding 600 million people, belong to the category of low-income countries and shackled in poverty. This indicates that only half a percent of total 1200 million Muslims are able to say richer while more than 50 percent of Muslims are in the poverty line. Then the question, is there a phenomenon is in line with Islamic teachings? or whether Islam itself wants his people to live in a state zuhud?
If we re-open the pages of history of Islam past, we really would be surprised how Islam has been able to change the fate of his people who previously backed away, climbed on top to be a very high society tamaddunnya. Islam is the community that has reached the peak of progress in various fields, especially in expanding and explore a variety of disciplines such as science, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, literature, philosophy, logic, political science, military, economic development and so on. Islamic community, too, who has triumphed in sailing the oceans and explore the earth rather than simply expand the territory and the occupied territories but it will be more than that spread Islam and science on earth God wherever they live.
However, what has happened to the Muslims now, especially after the colonized during the lead time berkurun superiority faded. Islamic society became sluggish, tired and lethargic, like a bird with a broken wing who can not afford anymore to get up and flaps its wings, unable to develop what he had achieved.
Now, what factors caused the decline of the dominant Muslim community at the present moment? Is it only colonization factor - as mentioned above - or there are other factors? Could it be because Muslims simply more interested in the afterlife and had forgotten all earthly life? Are Muslims have their own neglect of Islamic teachings that in fact as a religion or way of life is perfect?
For an answer let us stand by the word of Allah SWT "And look at what God has given to you (happiness) akherat country, and do not forget bahagianmu from (enjoyment) duniwi and do good (to others) sebaimana God has done good to you, and do not do mischief on the (face) of the earth. for Allah loves not those who do mischief "(Surat al-Qasas: 77).
To explain the above paragraph I will try to describe it into 3 main categories according to the meaning of the verse content, namely:
1. Hereafter is the purpose of life
Allah Almighty says, "And look at what God has given to you (happiness) akherat country".
Seen here clearly that we should pursue a happy life hereafter. Why? Because that is where eternal life. There are no dead again after that. Therefore in another verse Allah says: "And verily, the Hereafter that is the real life" (Surat al-Ankabut: 64).
So, what does the world we live in? ... The world in which we prepare ourselves for the hereafter. As a preparation, the world would have us leave. Like the terminal, we are in transit in it for a moment, until the time specified, then we leave and go on again. If so malevolent world, why do we take up too much to live for the world? Recognized or not, the 24-hour ration of our age in one day, can be said only a few percent of it we use to prepare for the hereafter. The rest may simply drained away by the activity swirling in world affairs.
Let us remember the favor of God's infinite, every time flows in our bodies. But why do we neglect it all. Heart beats never stop. Blinking eyes countless times a day, we always enjoy. But intentionally or not we always forget about it. We often easier thanks to a worthy to us, while to God who always spoiled us with pleasure-pleasure, we often turn memory. As a result we will not forget the Hereafter. From here the world will always spend our time.
The wise men say that this world is the need, like toilet and bathroom in a house, he built only as needed. Therefore anyone from the inhabitants of the house would go to the toilet or bathroom, if necessary, after it was abandoned. So it is very strange if there was a silence in the toilet all day, and make it as a primary goal of building a house. So is actually very natural for people busy with the world all day and make it as a purpose in life. While hereafter excluded.
Then how to synchronize or maintain a balance between life world and the hereafter? Let us follow the category as a connection to the two verses above explanation.
2. Trying to Improve the Life of This World
Allah Almighty says: "And do not forget the happiness of worldly pleasures and do good to others as God has done good to you".
The above verse clearly that Allaah commanded the Muslims to always try to achieve happiness hereafter, but do not forget the life in this world. Despite the happiness and enjoyment of the world is temporary, but still important and so as not to be forgotten, because the world is the next field.
Future - including the happiness in the hereafter - we, really depends on what is now cultivated in the world. God has created everything in the world and to mankind, as a means toward the hereafter. God also has made the world as a test for humans, to see who the best charity, who is most kind and intentions.
God reminds the need for humans to manage and cultivate the world as well as possible, for the sake of human life and his descendants. At the same time God also emphasized the need to always do good to others and do not do mischief on earth. God warned: "Do not you notice that God has sent down to you what is in the heavens and on earth and perfecting for you His favors outwardly and inwardly" (Surah Luqman: 20).
To manage and cultivate the world as well as possible, so people just need a variety of preparation, facilities and adequate infrastructure. Because it is the human need to master science and technology, at least sufficient skills and professionalism that will facilitate in the management process.
However, because of sunatullah, the law of cause and effect, not all people in the position and the same trend. Therefore, any human being; rank, status and socioeconomic status should not underestimate any profession, people who had sought. God himself was not looking or outward appearance of human duniawiah. Instead of God appreciates any effort, no matter how small or whatever sehina man's view, all professionally done, well, no damage and made solely because of God.
God just looked at will, sincerity and determination in seeking a servant of his world affairs properly. Allah asserted that: "Verily Allah will not change the position of a people, so that the changed conditions, the existing position themselves (through hard work and sincerity" (Surat ar-Ro'd: 11).
God also reminded people that the character is often greedy, selfish / ananiyah nature and ego, in order to manage the world should not disadvantage the other person will only lead to hostility and bloodshed (war) among others. Humans often because of greed ambition is to have wealth and possessions, power, rank and honor to not notice or ignore the rights of Allah, His messenger and the human rights of others. So God warned that humans will forever humiliated and losers, if not improve the relationship with God (hablun minallah) and with the fellow-man (hablun minannaas).
This is an important foundation for the creation of community life harmonisme. He is also an important basis and prerequisite dignified society and civilization for the creation of a peaceful civil society, just, and prosperous.
3. Keeping Environment
As a means of life, Allah forbid people to make mischief on the earth. They must manage nature, but to preserve and not destroy. The Word of God from the connection of the above verse: "Doing all right (to others) as Allah has done good to you, and do not do mischief on the (face) of the earth. For Allah loves not those who do mischief".
Almighty God our sarcastic about the few people who care about environmental sustainability in the face of the earth, his word; "So why is not there among the generations before you who has the virtue of prohibiting rather than (do) damage the earth, but a few! "(Surah Hud verse 116).
In Jurisprudence Usul rules say, Ad-dlararu yuzalu: kemudharatan that all forms must be eliminated. The Prophet SAW said: "La dlarara wala dlirara" means is not jeopardize yourself or harm others.
From here you can make the technical rules to prevent environmental damage that ultimately endanger human life itself. Violation of any of it, in addition to sin must be punished ta'zir; ranging from fines, flogging, imprisonment and even death depending on the level of the resulting hazard.
Therefore, if we want to avoid the various disasters should be a total revolution of the human view of the natural surroundings. How to capitalistic and individualistic view that there is so far should be changed. This is because the natural surroundings considered as factors of production has made people greedy, greedy, and opportunistic at the same time.
View of life to compete based on the theory of Survival on the fittes makes humans damaging the harmony of life. The lack of confidence in the favor of Allah that there is no count to kill fellow human beings in order to satisfy their need of God.
