Obadias was giddy.
Or rather, he was as happy as the usually somber cub had been for a long time.
Why?
Because he had slept well the night before and the night prior to that. He wasn't sure why, but the flashes were leaving him alone. Perhaps they were fading now he was growing older, or maybe it was just wishful thinking. Either way, he was happy to be free of them, at least for a little while.
To celebrate, the bright eyed cub had ventured out into the pride. His mothers had been told where he'd be, down by the great lake's shoreline. If he was honest, he was hoping to meet his friend, the pretty blue cub, again.
Unfortunately, there was not a soul in sight when he approached the lake. Moving down towards the edge, he walked in the shallows, allowing his feet to get wet.He didn't love the water, but he didn't hate it either. He was impartial but it was a nice feeling on his hot feet in the daytime.
Sighing, his good mood fading away, Obadias glanced up and scoured his surroundings. Surely there had to be something around to capture his attention, even if it was only for a short while.

Mitra was lounging by the lake side by her favorite bush. She had been stretched out on her stomach forever, legs curled up underneath her head for support. The normally high strung cub let all of her aggressions fly to the wayside. Right now was about sleepy time.
Her mother's were near by and her siblings wouldn't be too far behind. She yawned. Sitting up, she noticed another one of those black cubs moving down to the water. Mitra's nose curled up with disgust at the memory of her last encounter with the darker set.
Still, this one was a boy. Maybe he wouldn't be as bad? Looking around, she didn't see anyone else and from her hiding spot it would look like he was alone. Well, she was bored now and he was there.
She stood up with a stretch before padding down. "Did you lose your mommies?" He kept looking around and it made her nervous. What if he heard something that she didn't?

Obadias perked up when he spotted a blue figure moving towards the lake, squinting as he tried to discover whether it was his friend or not. When she moved closer, the blue appeared to be lighter, and his shoulders slumped a little. She had to be one of her sisters though, he decided, or a relative.
When she spoke, he focused his gaze on her instead of continuing to scan the surroundings. "No," he shook his head, tilting it to the side as he peered at her. "They're back at the den. They know where I am and I know where they are." So he wasn't lost.
"Are you alone?" What was with females walking around without protection? Not all the Pads were extremely nice and understanding. She could be hurt.
