It hurt. He felt so outcasted by his family and for no reason. Malik didn't let it show, his pain, but it was there. It was deep rooted and felt like he was going to overflow because of it. Yellow eyes looked at the families playing together, Pad's with their Beybanu, Banu and children. His family wasn't like that. His Daddy didn't love him. His mommas nearly shunned him. the only friend he found was in Nesrin; his sister.
At night, him and his pink and yellow siblings huddled together, away from the rest of the family because they weren't wanted. Once, Malik tried to cuddle up to his father for warmth, but was quickly shoved away by him, and the Banu just stared at him. Was it wrong to want to be loved by your father? Especially at his tender age? He was beginning to think so.
A sigh left Malik's lips as he rose from the hill he was sitting on, shaking off dried grass. Looking to the sky, he frowned a bit. It was just after the high sun. Maybe.... he could find the Sultan and ask him why his daddy was the way he was with him. So, that's what he was going to do. Off he trotted, determined to get an answer one way or another.

Shahla blinked sleep out of her eyes, waking from her afternoon nap to enjoy the rest of the day. She had started to get in the habit of sleeping the high sun away, especially after falling ill from its heat. It was better for her anyway, allowed her to have strength to run around later in the day instead of having all her energy sapped out of her. Rolling her body out to stretch, she heaved a light sigh. It was cooler now, a time to enjoy her day.
Strolling out into the sunlight she smiled, it was beautiful. What better time to explore the pride and meet more pesar and banu! Bouncing off towards the trees she felt someone close. Was she in luck already in finding someone new to speak with? Turning her head to look behind her she made out a pink dot slowly making its way towards her den. She had never met a pink lion before. Smiling she turned around to started towards it, hoping for a friendly conversation with the other.

Golden eyes spotted a dark spot ahead and he raced towards it. He wanted to know why everyone hated him and his siblings; he wanted to know their mother's sin and why they got blamed for it. Malik wanted answers and he wanted them now. He couldn't remember a time he felt more determined before this. Skidding to a stop when he realized it was a Banu with Aali's coloration, he hesitated. Talking to the Sultan's daughter about his sins might end up with one of them in tears, or him leaving the pride all together.
But... he wanted to know. So he walked the rest of the way, stopping just in front of her, ears back, head dipped, much like a submissive Banu. Yes, he knew he was a Pesar, but he knew he wasn't worthy of the title. He'd been told that time and again through whispers at night by his 'father', thinking him and his siblings asleep.
"H....Hello."
