Well, there are some alternate methods to completing this mission:
Considering what level Kite is-- If Kite's level is high enough for the dungeon he is in, establish Operation Recover so that Piros doesn't get near the monsters. I don't exactly remember the level of the dungeon, but at that point in the game I think the game grossly underlevels you for this point, so~ Anyway. Another option is to bring one revival item and let Piros die when he dies, but revive him right before the final area. Skip any unneccessary rooms and just complete the storyline mission; you can always come back to the area, this time with an appropriate team. You can also leave Prios of the attacking and Kite can be the Healer of the party. Just continuously heal Piros. Finally, level up both yourself and Piros while doing side- quests. You may just have to suck it up to level him up, but I don't believe you'll need Piros again for Infection (maybe once more, but still, I NEVER used him EVER).
By the way, ELK DOES NOT SUCK. You just haven't leveled him up enough or are not using him correctly. Also, moved the Game Assistance.
