The early morning was the best time to hunt, the best time to do anything really because it wasn't as warm as during the day, or as cold as the desert nights could become. Sumu hadn't slept well, and after tossing and turning for a few hours decided this was as good a time as ever to go find breakfast, and then meet back with hunting group to start her day officially.
She dreamed a lot about her first coming to the desert, and especially of the one that trapped her here. She saw that one and her family a lot and each time her blood ran cold and she felt like her heart would never start beating again. It was hard living in the same place as your once owner..but it was harder to think she could survive on her own after so long.
Finding her way away from the main sleeping an daily life areas the black and red lioness paced inhaling the scent of hares as her feet fell and kicked up dust in the sands. It's like they're teasing me, her stomach rumbled in agreement, I know the warren is here somewhere.

Good God, it was entirely too early.
As it turned out, Ubawa hated being up early. He wasn't even sure why had managed to wake up so soon. Probably because he had foolishly fallen to sleep too early the night before, and had woken up too soon as a result. He should have gone hunting like a good lion.
But no, he had thought the night was too cool for it. It was irritating to say the least, but unfortunately, something in the back of his mind refused to let him back to sleep, informing him that the day had begun and no amount of keeping his eyes shut was going to change that. So he'd gotten up, wandering from his resting spot to find himself something to drink. That long night of snoring left him parched.
To his surprise, he soon spotted someone else moving in the early morning light- a black lioness. Grunting, he approached her. "You have trouble sleeping as well?" He asked casually, to out of sync with himself to even be grumpy.
