Sounds lovely! heart

I already have the latest AI, but if I'm in need of one and don't have my computer with me, I'll definitely check it out!

Holy s**t! A fellow Inkscaper! The first I've met, believe it or not! HALLOO.

I'm too guilt-ridden to download AI illegally. GIMP's interface confuses me -- have you tried Paint.NET?

@Dante: Dew eeet. The main reason I checked out Inkscape was because it was a pretty tiny program -- perfect for my dinky laptop.

I used Paint.NET for very minor things that Inkscape doesn't do very well. Like sharpening images, and making typefaces appear clear and crisp.

I think people should support all of the free, open-source programs that are being offered out there. It's community driven, and it's giving people (who don't have heaps of money to burn) access to graphics programs that are almost as good Adobe's products.

If I knew programming and coding jibber-jabber, I would help tweak the bugs in Inkscape. I'm thinking about donating, too.

I'm glad I've inspired you!

It's been closing randomly since two versions ago -- I seems it would be fixed by now. Ah well.

Ugh, you tricked me! neutral

I was introduced to vector graphics by a friend of mine in high school. He was a bigger computer nerd than I was. We we're flipping through advertisements in a magazine, and he was pointing out all of the designs that might have been vector graphics. I was like, "WUTZ VEKTOOR?"

That's all we would do in between class periods -- just sit around in the library and chat graphics.

What about you?

i was in an IRC chatroom [forgot whut]

showing off my ms paint stuff then somebody told me about inkscape
it was love at first sight

Chatrooms still exist? Holy crud. The intarwebz confuzzle me.

I've been trying to look for more free vector graphics programs, but the only ones I could find that are worth mentioning are Dia, Karbon14, and sk1 -- none of which come close to Inkscape.

Dia is more for flowcharts, I have no idea how to install Karbon (I think it's for Ubuntu), and sk1 is only for Linux.

I have to start learning how to use raster graphics programs, 'cause I've never worked with photos or images. I think it'd be a valuable skill to have.
