It was morning, a few days after Koin spoke with his Master in the middle of the night, and now his Master was staying with his children – Koin's duty to hunt within the lands and bring back for the cubs, even though they could take down a kill their self by now.

Hell, there took his Master's size, making the three larger then a normal cub, and they nearly reached his height. He kind of found it amusing, but that was besides the point, really. Focusing his attention, Koin's dark red eyes clittered ominously and stared out ito the distance, searching for prey.

Kaori
Devya stalked along the prides borders. His stomach was empty and it had been such a long time since he had really been able to enjoy a hunt. Devya thought tonight was a good a time as any, and what he did not eat he could bring back to the pride.

He slinked out moving away from the border and heading to where he knew their were zebra just waiting to be taking down to fuel his strenght and feed is hunger.

As he moved further out his keen ear flicked lightly as he picked up the soft sound of ruslting grass and caught a familiar scent.

Seaki
Koin's eyes focused on a Zebra, having long given up his sense of smell when all his strong nose could sell was the harsh stench of blood and wounds. It haunted him sometimes. He used it on occassion, but not when he could yse his sight and his hearing.

His eyes flicked around a bit, searching for any other predators - lions after his kill, lions that could simply kill him. He lowered his body close to the ground and hesitated forward, not spotting a lion that would be familiar if he had spotted him.

Kaori
: Devya sighed lightly as the sound stopped and focused on the zebra a short distance away. He crouched down moving through the grasses, staying down low as to hide his massive size and rather bright manes.

Once he was close enough he lowered his body to the ground waiting to make sure he prey was calm and not on edge. He knew they could probably sense, even if they could not hear or smell him. He kept his breathing even and his mind focused till his prey seemed to calm and then he was off. He paws pounded against the ground and his prey began to scattered. It was too late though as Devya closed in on his chosen target grabbing it by the throat it pulling it to the ground. His jaws clenched tight on the zebras throat and he lay on top of it to avoid flaing legs.

Seaki
Koin nearly tripped when a black form, going unnoticed by him, flicked out before he could even think abot running, and almost tripped over his own paws. He stared at the lion and stepped back, watching the lion warily.

But then. "Devya?" He questioned to himself, watching. The mask over his eyes wasn't easily mistakable though, so he sat, watching for the lion to finish off his kill.

Kaori
Devya ears pricked and he looked up when he though he heard his name, but he saw nothing and returned his attentions to his prey. When the animal took it last breath Devya began to partake in the demon way of feasting, drinking the animals blood to gain it strenght.

He could feel the eyes of another on him and it was slightly annoying. He frowned allowing his prey to fall from his mouth and standing over it. "I do not like to be watched," he said with an aire of threat. "I suggest you show yourself."

Seaki
Koin's ears pressed to his head, unsure. He hesitated for a second - he had never seen a demon feast, not even his master. It was... odd. He moved forward though, eyes on the familiar-looking lion. But, it had been a while.

Maybe the ambitious young lion had forgotten him - he had a full mane now, unlike the small tuft he had on his head when they had first met.

"I didn't mean to... make you feel uneasy?"

Kaori
Devya's expression relaxed when his old friend came into view. It had been a while since he'd seen him. He'd been very busy with his training and he was still very busy with the training that his current rank required.

"Koin," he said, "I was not uneasy, I have just developed a bit of a dislike for be watched."

Devya sat and looked around, "Have I messed up you hunt? I assure you I was not trying to my friend."

Seaki
Koin's body immediatly relaxed and he didn't even realize he had gone tense. Koin grinned a bit, glad that he was remembered - after all, why would a slave be remembered? "Oh, good. I was worried a bit," he gave a small nod.

With his now cheery disposition, he looked about in the direction fo the scattered herd and at the corpse. "It's alright, I can try again later," Koin smile. He sat before the lion, who was now much bigger then he.

Kaori
Devya sat back on his hunches and looked down at Koin. It was so odd how much bigger he was than the wilddog. It made him think on how long he'd been in the pride now. All the time thus far he had yet to visit his home.

He looked around and frowned doubting the prey would return anytime soon. Koin would have to venture farther and even still he might not be able to find. "I could help you find more prey later. With all my training my ears and sense of smell are ever keen."

Seaki
Koin gave a small thoughtful nod. He could use the help, honestly, but he didn't know if he should aceept the offer. But dispite his thoughts, Koin gave a small smile. "You really have grown a lot since I had last seen you, Devya," Koin looked up at the dark lion.

Yeah, a lot.

A small throught crossed the little dog's mind. "Did you manage to reach your goal?"

Kaori
Devya cocked his head to the side a bit, "The goal of being the best demon or the best hunter. No and I'm not sure. I'm still working at becoming the best demon, though I fear may have to settle for a close second. As for hunting, I am still very good at it, but I always have been and I spend a lot of time alone so I really have nothing to compare to."

Devya grinned, "I'm sorry I haven't been able to spend any time with you. I have been training with Drathir since soon after we meet. I spend much of my time training. My position still requires training."

Seaki
Koin gave a small nod of understanding - he was glad he was but a slave and didn't have to compete against anyone. He had a nice Master, anyhow, and his cubs were nice as well. He gave a small frown and looked up. "Hmm...?" He questioned a biut, only seeking to clarify after he realized his thoughts had not been voiced. "Why must you settle for close second?"

"Oh, it's alright. Master has cubs, now, and I've been helping out best I can." After all, Koin wasn't the swiftest, or a great hunter, but birds, hares, and the occasional large prey he could take out on his own.

"Oh? What is your position now?"

Kaori
"I still want to be the best demon, but I feel like I should be loyal to our new leader. After all he did train me. I also hate to think what would happen if I attempted to surpass him. I'm not sure," Devya rambled.

Devya couldn't help but to feel at ease. Koin was his first friend in the pride. He made him feel so much better when he missed his family so terribly. His goals kept him sane and focused then. "I also feel like I don't need to be so consummed by my goals."

He shifted a bit looking to Koin, "I am glad to hear life is treating you well and that you have other little ones to keep you company."

Devya's chest seemed to puff with pride as he answered Koin," I am Arca'an, a knight in the pride. I do feel as though I will be the best at least in that position."

Seaki
Koin gave a small laugh. "Just be the best you can be, and that's what counts, right? Whatever your rank, being the best you can be is key." He gave a smile. "I might be a Na'artu, but I'll be the best one I can."

Koin rocked on his paws a bit and gave a small hum of agreement. Though, goals were good to occupy oneself, was it really good to do so? He suppose it depended on the situation and how the other felt. "An Arca'an sounds like a good rank you have Devya. You must be proud of yourself," Koin told him. "You've come a long way since you were a pup."

Kaori
Devya smiled and nodded to Koin, "you are so much more that a good Na'artu. You are a friends and I would have to say a nanny of sorts to." Devya could feel his demon's disapproval at his words, but he ignored the musing because he was more than a demon. He was a lion and and he was a knight.

He frowned slightly feeling his demon wanted to butt into the conversation. He couldn't feel him this strongerly before he'd gone into that volcano, but now he was clearly there. He wondered if his mother would be proud or dissappointed to know she had birthed him. He turned to Koin, "I have gone into the volcano and come out with my demon name. I am truly a member of the pride now. Truly a demon."

Seaki
Koin gave a fond smile to the younger lion. "I suppose I'm those things as well," Koin said modestly, tilting his head a bit. It was odd to be acknowledged for things such as that. If his fur wasn't in the way, his cheeks would be pink.

The white and red dog blinked up at Devya as he frowned. A small tilt of his head told of his curiosity. "That's what you wanted, isn't it?" he questioned tentatively. That's what he thought, anyways. It would be a shame for the pup to have gone through everything, just to regret it in the end.

Kaori
“Yes Kion, that is what I wanted. Do not get me wrong. I am very proud to be a demon and to passed the ceremony, but being able to hear my demon is still a little odd. Afterall it wasn't a subject I was introduced to until I arrived here.” Devya smiled at Koin thinking to himself for a moment.

“At times I think of my family and I realize that they are only my family in blood and that we don`t have that closeness we had. My family aren`t demons and I shant ever go back there.”

Seaki
Koin gave a nod, feignin=g understanding. He wasn't even allowed close to the Volcano, and didn't want to. He didn't even know the demons actually... heard their demon. It was odd and a strange concept. He filed it away in his head and decided he didn't really need to know.

Instead, Koin listened to Devya, and rocked a bit on his toes again. "You could always make a new family here," Koin shrugged his scarred shoulders and looked up at the multicolored lion.

Kaori
Devya grinned at the very smart non-demon wilddog. The thought hadn`t rwally occured to him to start his own family before, but at least now he had the option in mind.

“I will need to finish my training first, but once I haved finished maybe bringing new little demon souls into the world can be my next goal.”

Devya's stomach gave a mighty protest to the cinversation deeming it to long for it liking and it almost made Devya laugh out loud.

Seaki
Koin gave a small chuckle. He loved children, so it had always been a wonderment in his mind why not everyone had them. But Koin looked up to the sky again. A significant time had past, and he had jumped up, shaking his head and trying to remember what it was he had to do.

Hunting, that was it. "It's been nice, Devya. I think I've hung around too long, though." The red eyes widened a little bit. "I'll see if I can visit sometime later?" He questioned lightly, with his grin still on his face.

Kaori
Devya nodded to his friend, “Do not worry I wiil ve around and will make sure I make time for your visit. Now hurry off, I do not wish to see you get into any trouble.”

Seaki
Koin gave a greatful smile and nod and stepped off. "I'll see you later, Devya," he told the large lion with a small laugh tracing his words, and he went off to find some prey that he could easily take down alone.
