I was watching the MKLjr Day block of Mythbusters reruns Monday when I saw something that I found quite interesting.

Someone proposed that a single bullet from a pistol could ricochet off three 45 degree walls and hit the person who fired the round in the first place.

Seems they managed to prove it was possible as long as you used a perfectly round steel ball instead of a bullet. Almost all regular bullets fell apart after the first glancing impact.

Anyone else here see that episode?

I saw where they called a Springfield 1903 an M1 Garand, and an M1 Garand an M1 carbine.

The guy who wears the beret all the time owns a nice Colt 45 auto. It was his pistol they used to test the first part of the myth.

I'm sure, from the looks of those guys, that they're not all dyed in the wool gun owners.

But the 1903 is bolt action while the Garand is semi-automatic, and the Garand is nearly TWICE the size of the Carbine. And the Carbine uses removable magazines, too.

Still pretty sad when a former Navy SEAL doesn't know what he's talking about.

I still love "this is the three-oh-eight, *holds up .308WIN* standard round used in the AK-47..."

People defend him, too. "Well it's a .308" bullet..." Yeah, jackass. Ask for a .308 at your gun store and see what the guy gives you.

I saw the one where they took M1919 barrels and hacked at them with weaboo s**t.

Then I saw the one where they tested the myth about SKSs being unsafe and could auto fire by jarring them forward or dropping them.

First of all, they slam fire from people not cleaning the gun like they should, second when they BLEW THEM UP and finally got a result, it was the HAMMER THAT FELL, I could tell because of the sound and the slight effort it took when they racked the bolt and heard the striker get pulled back. They used the actual recorded sound, not the murphy stage or whatever it's called.
