If someone had the deathnote in the real world could they succeed at Light's goal where he failed?(Keep in mind that there might or might not be any detectives a brilliant as L in real life and a lot of people don't believe in supernatural things ,so how would they catch on?)

Let's just say If I had the death note...
I would kill people who have commited crimes and have not been punished properly even though evidence showed they commited the crime but the judges "feel sorry for the criminals" and let them off.
I blend in the crowd, and no one will put cameras in my house.
No evidence, therefore they can't convict me.
Although in the end I might be corrupted with power and go crazy...
Most likely not, since Light was hacking into the police system which made him a suspect. If his father wasn't head of police L most likely wouldn't of suspected him.

well that depends, death note as smart as light . if so, well i guess, but i would hope that there would be a detective as smart as L.

im sure if someone did have a deathnote and they knew what to do with it and how to use it i think they would totally carry out what Light started. 3nodding

if i had the death note in real life i would kill the majoir crimanals like the one in the begining of the show the holding hostges and the one rapeing the girlbut i could not kill every crimanal there was

Okay saying if I had no idea what a death note is and discovered the way Light did.
I wouldn't react to it the way he did. I'd think that some gothic kid wanted revenge on someone, and that's it's not true at all, rip out the page of rules and write story ideas, but find out in a terrible way that someone who actually held one of my character's names (which is possible due to the billons of people in this world) died the way I describe.
I'd run to the police and beg myself to be arrested and have them destroy the Death Note so no one else could do this horrible thing, then when they don't take me seriously and turn me away I'd throw the Death-note into a metal barrel full of tinder and twigs poor gasoline all over it, strike a match and watch it burn 'til it's nothing but ashes.
